  1. I remember two people posting that they got ga positions...maybe 7500/year? Not sure if I am remembering correctly about the specifics, but definitely remember two people mentioning that they received funding. My guess is that funding is available for years 2 and 3. I was willing to pay extra for Loyola b/c it is so much more convenient for me in terms of location and the timing of classes. Also, I had heard some negative feedback about GW, UMD, and mainly neutral talk about Towson. Towson is cheaper, but I didn't think the difference in cost overall was so great that it made up for Towson's real inconveniences to me. It is an hour away and classes are every day. That would be a hardship to my family...and gas prices are crazy! What are your pros and cons for each school? Where do you live?
  2. I sent in my deposit to Loyola two days ago. Did you apply to the foundation programs? I turned down Towson and GW in favor of Loyola. I have had very positive interactions with them. I also have communicated at length with a student currently in the Foundation program and her experience has been fantastic. She says they make it as easy as possible to understand what you are supposed to do and how to be successful. Also, the foundation year is only on Tues/Thurs evenings, so I can still have a life on the other days! The administration told me that they treat students with respect and expect all of the professor to do so. Grad school is tough, but they make an effort to make it pleasant.
  3. Yes, I applied to the 3 year program. For the Foundation Program, my understanding is that they were interviewing 30 people for 15 slots. I don't know how many apps they received.
  4. I received an acceptance letter in the mail from Loyola on Friday. I wish you the best of luck. Let me know how things turn out for you.
  5. Steph, I heard from GWU on Feb 9th and had all of my application materials in by the end of October. I am surprised that you did not hear from them. I was notified by email. I would definitely send them an email or call. It can't hurt. It's tough to still be waiting at this point, b/c it's impossible to make a decision without having all of the info. I like GW, but don't think I will go b/c it is the most expensive of the 3 I am seriously considering. Taking public transportation there from Maryland would be almost an hour each way! I think if reputation does not matter and how I perform matters more, then I should go to the place that fits my life the best. Towson is also an hour from me. I am leaning towards Loyola b/c for the first year I'd only have classes 2 days per week and for the 2nd and 3rd years the Graduate Campus is closer to my house. The cost of Towson is very tempting though...but the schedule and distance would mean a lot more sacrifice. I really appreciate your input and insight into these programs. Let me know how it goes with GW and where you end up deciding to go. Did you apply to the 2 year or 3 year programs? I applied for the 3 year ones.
  6. I am making the same decision, but also have Towson to chose from. Which way are you leaning? I am looking for input on these programs as well as info regarding their reputation and placements.
  7. I was accepted to UNH back in mid February. 4.0 gpa. GRE Q/V/AW: 630/650/4.5 I applied to the 3 year program b/c I am out-of-field
