It is I who is annoying every professor on the department asking for updates. If they haven't rejected me already, they might just do it for all the updates I have been requesting

Does anyone want to claim CITE admission offers at Rutgers? Apparently three students have been offered admission out of which only one has accepted (they even posted their acceptance on gradcafe) and the rest two are pending.

Hey! I emailed Dr. Feldman for an update regarding the interviews and, bless this man's soul, he replied within an hour. He said that the Admissions Committee is currently in the process of sending interview invites and people who are not selected will also be notified soon enough. Hope that helps!

Rutgers Anthro. Had an interview on Jan 24th which didn't really go well. They said they'll get back to me in 3-4 weeks so end of February

So amazing to see all these acceptances! Hope everyone gets their dream school! I am still nursing two rejections (out of the 4 I have applied) and was wondering if anyone has heard anything about the MCC PhD at NYU. I saw an interview invite marked 'Media Studies' NYU last week of January but I have no clue if it was referring to MCC. Regardless, any update shall be appreciated in case I need to grieve a third rejection lol

Oh absolutely. My initial drafts sounded like a phd thesis in itself. As one of my reviewers said, "You sound too sure of your research topic." It's such a bizarre dance between clarity of concept and potential to learn.

Oh I wish I could be relaxed. I know for a fact that i won't make it so I really want a formal rejection as quickly as possible so that I can move on with my life so the wait till February feels unreasonably long :') I don't understand why universities fail to provide clear dates to applicants. it's as if they want us to be anxious

My research interests are all over the place lol but predominantly affect, oppressor victimhood and unreliable sources of information (rumours, slogans, secrets).

They send out the invitations around Mid-February. I actually had a zoom call with one of the faculty members and he is the one who gave me these details. They'll select five candidates out of the 10 (or six, if the sixth one is exceptional) by March. Yeah I have only applied to Ph.D programmes.

For the MCC programme, they shortlist 10 candidates for the interview. I have applied to Uchicago, Stanford and Rutgers for Anthro. This whole endeavour seems so doomed T_T

For Media & Communications, I only applied to NYU. Otherwise I have applied for Anthropology at UChicago, Stanford, and Rutgers (still have to submit my application).
