  1. No, I'm asking if you got two separate letters or just one.
  2. Did you get a separate aid email with an exact amount or just the 80% tuition statement? From my understanding, it would be tuition minus 80% to calculate what is left to pay. Housing is a separate thing.
  3. From what you said, it seems like your offer was an 80% tuition scholarship, which means it would cover 80% of tuition.
  4. Weird. I kind of feel like maybe my scholarship info got left out on accident...? Otherwise my second paragraph doesn't make a lot of sense. I'll email them for clarification.
  5. I'm confused because the letter seems to imply I was offered a scholarship/financial aid package, but there's no specification. Here is exactly what it said: "Scholarship support is also available to you for up to summer term(s) when you register for three (3) or more credit hours. Please be aware that should you elect to change your degree program or your enrollment status as a student, your financial aid package may be affected and should be discussed in consultation with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs."
  6. Also, congrats to you, too! Sorry, I'm a little out of it and confused by the wording right now haha.
  7. You applied for MDiv there, right? I wonder if MTS specifies later? It just says "scholarship support is also available to you." I'm not sure what that means.
  8. Where did you see any financial aid information? I got in, too, and it said something about financial aid, but it didn't say specifics.
  9. Exactly how I feel right now. I feel like we should hear from Vandy today but I'm not positive.
  10. No, I think we can give our anxiety and obsessive email checking a break for the weekend.
  11. I agree with this; it did sound quite vague. However, the initial email did say interview invites would be sent out throughout February and early March. It's still early March. I would say if we don't have interview invites by Monday, though, then things aren't looking so good. Unless interviews somehow affects their decision date; after all, it's the first year they're doing this. All in all, I'm not really sure what to think.
  12. I quoted what the email said, and it was sent to me five or so hours after emailing them. They addressed me by my first name and also told me I was welcome to ask more questions if I have them. I'm not sure, it definitely wasn't an auto reply but I can't say whether it was a template copy-paste. Couldn't say.
  13. It'll be interesting to see if those who haven't been interviewed yet (including myself) receive an invite or not. Per the email they sent me, it seems like they would barely be done with interviews before the expected decision date. Honestly I'm not sure what to expect but I'm happy to be on this journey and my uncertainty about the future has been much relieved by hearing from Duke, so I'll be content with whatever the remaining schools decide.
  14. Anybody hear anything yet?
  15. Okay, I think I understand. They will offer need-based unsubsidized and subsidized loans, but I found something in a PDF about financial aid saying "all institutional scholarships are awarded at time of admission" so I think this means they don't give any need-based scholarships.
  16. Yes, but I wonder who is reviewing our FAFSA's? I guess I don't understand whether we will be offered anything more based on that or if it's just for loans. I filed independent and have no income so if we get anything need-based...
  17. Hm, I may be confusing what it says about scholarships with financial aid. I am confused now, too, because Duke does not have a separate financial aid application like YDS and HDS. We will probably have to contact admissions to ask.
  18. There are probably external financial aid things to apply for, but I think Duke's offer is the final offer based on the financial aid info on their website. It says financial aid comes with the admissions letter. I don't know though, might be worth asking about if you want.
  19. What are your other offers, if I may ask? I know one of the things to consider when it comes to how much you're willing to take out for loans is whether the program gives you the best chances at getting into a PhD program.
  20. I thought the tuition percentage is the financial aid information?
  21. Still, they have been stating that decisions will be mid-March, so the timeline can't change by much. Honestly, I'm at peace with whatever happens. I'm strongly considering Duke's offer right now and have started declining offers elsewhere.
  22. I'm revising my last statement. I reviewed the email we all received initially, and apparently it says they will be *sending out invites* for interviews in early March. So, maybe they really just aren't done yet.
  23. Wow, 100% is insane for Duke! I was only offered 50% for MTS, but considering MTS is more expensive in tuition by a few thousand dollars than MDiv so probably has less funding, I guess I'm still pretty happy all in all! Congratulations (even if you don't choose Duke)!
  24. I read in a forum from last admissions cycle that someone asked Duke for more funding and was declined. I was offered 50% for their MTS program. I might try to make an appeal as people start getting in elsewhere and declining Duke for 75% which was really what I was hoping for.
  25. I don't know, something does feel a little strange. I keep checking my email to see if I've missed anything. I'm hoping you all cast your net elsewhere, too, because I'm not necessarily counting on this interview anymore. Even if they interview through March 14th, shouldn't we have at least had the opportunity to schedule it by now? I'm not trying to be the pessimist but it's March 1st.
