  1. Issue: Although sound moral judgment is an important characteristic of an effective leader, it is not as important as a leader’s ability to maintain the respect of his or her peers. Essay: Decision making and sound moral judgements are one of the many key qualities everyone looks up for to their leaders in their day to day life. Perhaps it is the only quality that separates a great leader from the rest. In our everyday life we always find ourselves in situations where we get indecisive about our immediate course of actions. Even in the bigger picture of life, at times we are unsure about the things we would like to pursue from a professional or personal perspective. At moments like these, we seek advice from our mentors whom we look up to. In fact, there are times we even draw inspiration from great leaders who got into the most challenging situations imaginable and took the decisions which might look unconventional for an outsider. But those decisions shaped their lives and made them the great leaders they are today. People might have an opinion that decision making is not the only important skill and might not always transpose to getting respect from your peers. However, good decision making is the crux on which all the latter skills are developed. If you do not make the right decisions at the right time, you will never be able to give your best shot at the situations that passes by you. In the case, building a mutual respect and healthy relationship with your peers. One should be aware of the decisions during their time as all other factors are the by-products of that very moment when we made that call.
