How are people on waitlists preparing? I’m on a waitlist and I don’t know if I should enrol for spring classes to boost my average and pick up more volunteer opportunities in case I don’t get in or if I should just be hoping for the best? I don’t want to be working full time, studying full time and doing volunteering and burn myself out if I’m going to get in for September.

Just got an email about being on the waitlist for Yorks advanced standing FT! Does anyone know if there has been much waitlist movement in the past and when?

Hi friends, was just looking for your advice on if I should apply this year or wait until next year? I applied last year and got denied, my average is currently mediocre at 3.3 however since last year I’ve started a 1 year BSW program. I will be finished in the spring but I won’t have any marks from the program by the time they look at marks. I am expecting/hoping this will improve my last 2 year average as in the past I have done well in these classes and it bumps many of my lowest marks out. I have gotten more experience as I am completing a counselling and therapy practicum and have spent more time volunteering as a crisis counsellor. I’m just wondering if I should apply this year or wait until next year, money and time is tight so I’m trying to make a good decision. I do love social work but honestly have dreamed of doing both! I miss the science of psychology and where I live the pay is almost double for those with a psych degree.

I got an email from McMaster saying my application had been updated but when I check there are no updates? Anyone else experience this?

Yes that's what I mean, since my decision for Waterloo is due before I will hear back in the .005% chance I accept and end up sharing back that I also got accepted from Laurier would I be able to tell Waterloo I got another offer and accept Laurier's and no longer attend Waterloo. If that makes sense.

Hi friends! I am so excited! I just got accepted into the 1 year BSW program at Waterloo, but I am still waiting to hear back for the 2 year program at Laurier. My acceptance is due in a week and I have a feeling I won’t hear back from Laurier by then. If I accept the offer and in some very odd chance I then get accepted for the MSW am I able to take back my acceptance ?

Well friends I think that’s the unofficial end of this admissions round for me. I didn’t get any interviews, got my rejections from Windsor last week, and reached out to my POI at USask to ask if I was still in the running and I am not. I think it’s safe to say I didn’t get in at UVic or McMaster as I haven’t heard anything from them. This is my first cycle applying, last year I got rejected from social work, I knew it was dumb to get my hopes up and apply but I’m still crushed. I don’t really feel anything yet but I’m sure it will hit me soon. Good luck to everyone wishing you fantastic studies ???

Just got my rejection email from Windsor’s adult clinical track. I also applied to child clinical but no word back yet and no interviews. My first update on any of my applications? Sending others hugs and good vibes.

When I check Windsor's egas it still says processing. I haven't heard anything from them at all, should I assume I was rejected? Will I get an email?

If I haven’t been contacted for any interviews at all yet am I out of luck ? (Uvic Usask Windsor and McMaster)
