  1. Has anyone who interviewed at Brown for Epi heard anything, yet? It's been nearly a month since the interviews (they had mentioned mid-February for a notification timeline). I haven't seen anyone post anything.
  2. Hi everyone! Just curious if anyone who interviewed at Brown for Epi has heard back from admissions yet or know of a timeline? Thanks so much!
  3. Rejected from 3 epi programs. Anyone hear back from Brown Epi, yet? Interviewed in January, but am worried the silence might mean a pending rejection. Have seen that people from the Social and Behavioral track received invitations.
  4. Just got denied from JHU Epi program after having an interview in mid-January. Still have one more school left that I am hoping will be an acceptance. If not, I suppose there is always next year to try again. Congrats to all those who got in!
  5. Does anyone who interviewed at Brown or JHU for the PhD programs know when we will be hearing back about acceptances/ rejections? Admissions had initially mentioned within the first two weeks of February, but wasn't sure if someone heard about decisions being pushed back?
  6. How did they notify you about being waitlisted? Had you interviewed with them or waitlisted with no interview?
  7. Congratulations on your acceptance to Minnesota! Did Hopkins send you an email this morning or did a POI?
  8. Hi! Thank you so much for sharing. I took the silence as an unofficial rejection from Columbia Epi program for me, but after hearing your experience, I feel it helps a little with the mental prepping of receiving an official rejection. I wish you all the luck and that the interviewers felt the oppositely of how you did about your interview with them!
  9. Congratulations on the interview! Do you know if that holds true for the PhD programs, as well?
  10. Update from above: Applied: Columbia, JHU, Brown, Harvard, Yale, BU (all in Epi) Interviewed: JHU, Brown Rejected: Harvard Accepted: TBD Waitlisted: TBD Have a feeling the silence from Columbia will turn into a rejection. I haven’t seen anyone post about Yale or BU interview invites, yet.
  11. I have Harvard, BU, and Columbia in common with you and also have not heard anything back at all! I heard that Harvard already sent out interview invites. As for BU and Columbia, it's been completely silent- I'm also getting a bit anxious!
  12. Congratulations! Did they send an official email or did a specific POI contact you?
  13. Anxiously waiting to hear back from a few schools. Anyone here who applied to PhD programs have heard anything about timeline from Columbia, epi track (or others schools)? Applied: Columbia, JHU, Brown, Harvard, Yale, BU Interviewed: JHU (last week), Brown (last week) Rejected: TBD Accepted: TBD Waitlisted: TBD
  14. Hi everyone! Thought I would put up the school I've applied to and update when/if I hear back. Interested in research regarding the interplay between chronic and infectious diseases. 1. Columbia (Epi): 2. Hopkins (International Health & General Epi): 3. Harvard (PHS-Epi): 4. Yale (EMD-Epi): 5. Brown (Epi): interview invite via email for next week 6. BU (Epi): Wishing you all the very best of luck this cycle and hopefully we'll all hear back soon! (crossing my fingers that it'll be a good thing to hear back soon)
  15. Anyone hear from Columbia or Hopkins Epi programs, yet? I’m getting nervous with all the silence from them ?
  16. Received an email today from Brown epi for a group virtual interview day. Good luck, my fingers are crossed for you!
  17. Talking with one of my advisors, they were saying how PhD programs are a matter of numbers! They saw some really strong candidates not have any acceptances and then the opposite as well! (I was worried bc my GPAs weren’t as high as some of the other candidates I’ve seen) I am hoping you receive the good news emails and that you also get into your dream school and program, as well!
  18. This is the first interview invite I've gotten so far! I got an invite from the Program Manager via email. I've also applied to epi programs at Yale, Harvard, JHU, BU, and Columbia, but haven't heard anything from them. I got my MPH in infectious disease epi in 2020 and have been doing clinical epi research the past two years at the same university where I got my MPH. I have 2 first-author publications, 2 mid-author publications, and 4 second-author manuscripts in preparation. My undergrad GPA was 3.24 (w/ an upward academic trend). The low GPA the first few years of undergrad were due to an immediate family death, which I explained in my SOP. My grad GPA was 3.5. I did not submit GREs for any of the programs. My LORs were from 2 academic professors in epi and my 3rd LOR was from my current PI who is a physician-scientist in epi. I also worked part time for my state DPH doing disease surveillance for two years.
