  1. Saw in the results that someone had a rejection from Georgetown--anyone claiming this? And if so, how were you notified? I've still got nothing from them.
  2. Woah that's an intense number of applications! I was looking at the data from previous years and it seems like they send out acceptances in Feb, and rejections in March (with a few waitlist exceptions) around the 15th.
  3. Ugh I'm sorry! Thank you for the heads up though...maybe that means I'm waitlisted?
  4. Did you hear back from American University? Or just an assumed rejection? I'm waiting on them still, but know that they already sent out first offers over a week ago.
  5. I checked on this and it said that the funding decisions (for RA/TAships) are made separately, so I would expect to hear back in a couple weeks on that. It did have the email for the academic advising contact in the decision letter, but you could also check with masongrad@gmu.edu.
  6. Just a heads up for anyone else still waiting on American University. I reached out to their grad admissions and they said they had extended first round offers last week, and that if any of these are turned down, they'll send out additional offers in March.
  7. I wrote to them, and I also wrote to the specific email for gov. admissions. They gave me the same response from the general email, still waiting on the response from the gov. admissions team. Will post here if they give an update! I'd imagine we'll hear by Monday because end of the month, but that's just a guess.
  8. I emailed and am still waiting on a response. But we are officially past the 10 weeks point.
  9. Right?! It's rough out there.
  10. Thanks--it is what it is. What I want to study is pretty niche, so I wouldn't be surprised if it's all rejections this cycle, but wishing everyone else all the best!
  11. American politics
  12. I did the same! Especially since it had said 6-10 weeks from the deadline, and 10 weeks past the deadline was yesterday. Will also update if I hear anything.
  13. Claiming the UMD rejection. Automated email at 3am.
  14. ? sorry. For UMD they seem to have sent out waitlists but I only saw one acceptance, so I wouldn't write them off yet. Good luck!
  15. I'm also waiting on Georgetown and UMD. Are you American Politics? Seems like for those two schools only IR/CP have heard back.
  16. You are having one hell of a season! Congrats!!
  17. I'm still waiting on 5. I think that it is normal to still be waiting on schools until the end of Feb. If you're still waiting on all of those by Mar. 1st, then I'd start to email programs.
  18. Same boat here. But I'm also getting the sense that there are also just way more people interested in CP/IR than AP (at least on this forum).
  19. For everyone who is claiming a UMD waitlist--are you all IR/Comparative? I only saw one admit for UMD on Valentine's Day (also IR/Comparative I think). But surely they must admit more than one? /It stands to reason that they would already know who is admitted if they are sending out waitlists (or would have already sent out acceptances).
  20. Probably Tuesday considering Monday is a holiday?
  21. Congrats! How were you notified, if you don't mind my asking?
  22. I dig the "ciao" send off.
  23. That's kind of what I'm expecting at this point, but it is also possible they are doing it by subfield? I'm American politics, and I only saw theory, IR, and comparative. Sooooo holding out some hope?
  24. I saw on their website that they were looking at a class of 10: https://politics.virginia.edu/graduate-admissions-and-financial-aid
  25. Not necessarily, but I think it is slightly more likely to be a rejection or waitlist based on the fact that many people who have gotten acceptances seem to have gotten emails from the DGS directly or a POI directly (or some sort of invitation to an admit weekend/funding offer accompanying an original email offer). But at the end of the day, every school is different, every experience is different. Anything can happen!
