  1. I think you can be very direct, you're on your right to ask about that! Something like: Dear XXX, I just wanted to follow up and ask whether you have any status updates regarding the [Program] Ph.D. admissions. I look forward to hearing any updates as they’re available. Thank you for your time! Regards, XXX
  2. They should be doing this. However, no problem if you want to contact them, but maybe talk with the DGS and say something like "I am really looking forward to meeting with Prof. X and Prof. X, would it be possible for you to try to arrange that for me?". But I would wait 1 week or so after admission to do that, maybe they are still instructing POIs, idk
  3. Honestly, I think this is the treatment we should all be receiving from graduate programs! I'm worried about the ones I'm not getting much attention. And don't know how your waitlists would affect that, I think it depends on the program. Would you mind sharing where your two offers were from?
  4. If the program has a Director of Admissions, you should reach out to them. If not, the DGS if probably the best person to reach out!
  5. They said they would be realizing decisions no later than Feb 28... I'm still waiting tho Someone received an unofficial acceptance from a POI on Friday. So I guess decisions should be out soon. Just waiting on Penn and the Harvard rejection to finally end my cycle
  6. Also claiming a USC admission! Very surprised after all the confusion with transcripts!!!
  7. It was a kick-off meeting for admitted students. I'm not sure, but I guess there were around 18 people attending!
  8. We had the first virtual visit meeting today. So I'm not sure if they would still be sending admissions... maybe waitlists?
  9. Anyone claiming the Upenn acceptance?
  10. Also claiming a rejection from Stanford (more than expected lol) I was not even considering to apply, but I had such an amazing experience in their Pathways to PhD Program that I decided to give it a try (btw, definitely would recommend the program for future applicants!) Still waiting on Harvard (assuming rejection), USC and Upenn. Needing this to move on with my life
  11. Absolutely. You can reach out and say that, thank them for the continued consideration of your application and state that you're still interested
  12. Same here! Hopefully they will be considering all "incomplete" applications. This info was not clear at all, I even reached out to the program coordinator and Graduate School at the time and no one replied ?
  13. LOL that's great. Thank you. I will cite that as @modesteffect(2022)
  14. Thank you! Do you know where this list comes from?
  15. Claiming a UMD waitlist here as well.
  16. There's no such thing as a stupid question -- maybe stupid answers lol -- I'll try to do my best here. Some programs take a while to reach out to students after sending the offer letter. So, if your acceptance was recent, maybe they'll be reaching out in the next week or the week after. However, no problem to contact them if you're willing to: I would probably email the DGS or Director of Admissions (some programs don't have this second role) and ask them about next steps, virtual visits, or if they could put you in contact with POIs and/or some grad students there. Alternatively, if you already know a POI there, you could reach out to the POI directly (but I guess it's not the case). Anyway, hope this helps!
  17. Definitely wait. Sometimes your dream school can become a nightmare... I already changed my mind about some programs just from the experience I have been having with meetings, talking with grad students, and everything else during recruitment season. So, unless you're positive you're not going to a program (no matter what), I would still wait for results and at least have a meeting with the DGS before withdrawing and/or declining offers. Additionally, if you got a competitive offer from the schools you're still waiting for, you can use that to negotiate a better offer somewhere else... Anyway, just my opinion!
  18. So... another boring week? (Usually after a comment like this some program decides to release decisions so lol)
  19. Yeah, totally agree! I understand they're busy and all of that, but it's so disrespectful to simply ghost applicants. Btw, you can definitely reach out and ask for an update on your status.
  20. Still waiting on USC as well. As for the others, I think it is safe to assume rejections at UIUC and Northwestern (guys on the thread were talking about their dates/decisions some days ago).
  21. Thank you for letting us know! This situation with OSU is killing me
  22. I reached out to ask about my application status a few days ago and after a while, yesterday they replied saying that they were not offering me admission. Unfortunately, I think at this point it is safe to assume rejection.
  23. In some cases, maybe. But don't know, and I realize that's awful, but honestly I think they're just showing they really don't care about applicants (just the ones who were accepted). That's why I am replying to rejections and actually thanking them about reaching out. I think the last they can do is to let you know your application status.
  24. No, and I reached out to the prof. who interviewed me (Vandy) asking and was totally ghosted ?‍♀️
  25. No, but I remember they saying they would hear back from the Graduate School on Monday, then they would be trying to relocate funding (?) during the week, and that we would hear something by the end of this week/early next week? Something like that. It's killing me, tho
