  1. this is so insane-- I literally just got my acceptance letter!! I think I manifested it here lol. No scholarship unfortunately, so that makes deciding a whole lot easier. Best of luck to you as well!
  2. if I were at home I would totally go in person myself, but I live at school outside of ny. I tried calling to speak with someone about it already and they said the only way to go about it was emailing, and when I did that (with a full explanation of everything) that was the latest they would go. I'll probably email again on friday to see if I can get another one and if not I'll still be more than happy at nyu:) just wish the deadline situation was like undergrad admissions instead lol
  3. unfortunately I already did ? nyu originally gave me until the 9th and I got a final extension to the 15th. columbia said they made a mark on my file, but again, I'm nearing the end of the timeline they gave me and there's only a few days between then and when I have to let nyu know
  4. anyone else who applied to columbia on or around feb 15th-- have y'all heard anything yet? they had told me I'd be hearing within 2-3 weeks with a note on my file that I had upcoming deadlines and it's nearing the end of the third week. starting to get concerned because I only have until the 15th to get back to another program and want to be able to have time to really make an informed decision:')
  5. I would be wary of Tulane's program, especially because of the price tag that comes with it. I know several people in the MSW program who advised me against applying because the admin really is not great at all; after Ida, I knew someone who had a tarped roof and was dealing with a lot of ramifications as a consequence of the storm (a Cat 4 on the anniversary of Katrina in a place where hurricanes happen every year) and admin was not flexible or understanding of the situation and wanted business as usual as soon as possible. Definitely worth considering when evaluating options!
  6. Happy to help! I 10000% recommend calling if that's something you're comfortable with if you end up waiting-- the admissions person I talked to was super friendly and definitely helped me get a better understanding of the situation. Good luck to you too:)
  7. Not sure, but we should probably hear from them in the next few weeks. I called the other day (I applied Feb 15th) asking about a timeline because I have <4 weeks to respond to NYU, and they told me to call back in 2 weeks if I still haven't heard because that's when they can do more to push mine through. I'm waiting until then to ask for an extension for my decision.
  8. Hey y'all, I posted in here awhile ago with some concerns over a sanction that no one could respond to, but luckily have good news! Despite being rejected from Fordham, I was just accepted into NYU's full-time clinical program with the Founder's Fellow scholarship! I applied before I'm still waiting to hear back from Columbia (I applied close to the final deadline) and Hunter, which I applied to by their priority date. Has anyone emailed Columbia regarding admission decisions to get an answer within a response deadline for another school, and if so, how do you go about doing that?
  9. does anyone know how much an academic sanction would hurt an application? I have one after a COVID-related incident in Nov 2020 (basically was exposed by someone who went to a superspreader, got angry over text, ended up with a sanction because the person reporting needed immunity from getting sanctioned over a uni covid policy violation since I was considering reporting them.) My academic record is spotless otherwise: have a 3.5, internship/job experience at non-profits, a social justice education job, clubs, held a research position, and I think a decently unique personal statement. I had the opportunity to explain it and did as thoroughly as possible, but am super stressed about a stupid interpersonal incident ruining my chances at continuing my education. Recently submitted my apps to Hunter and Fordham FT clinical if that's of any use!
