very true. I wonder if they conducted interviews prior to this news breaking, cuz if they did then it's probably over for me ? (is that super callous of me to say? i'm just so done with the application cycle and the rejections ahhh)

Yeah that's what the admissions coordinator also said, but I was kinda hoping we'd hear even if ONE finalist got interviewed ? trying to find some balance between my mind thinking 'they didnt interview you because you were great and you're getting in for sure' and 'they didn't interview you because you're trash and you're getting rejected for sure' lol

Hahahah i knowww that was so funny to me, they literally said that like fifteen times on their website. I did contact Aaron Fox to ask about decisions on the 27th of Jan, and he said the faculty would finalize decisions 'within a week or so', and then make informal notifications by email, with official offers to come later. So I wonder if I should give up hope now.
Haven't applied anywhere else for ethnomusicology, have applied to Harvard for anthro though. -
