If it makes anyone feel any better, one of my former advisors clued me into the fact that lots of schools are really behind in their interview process. Another one of my friends who applied for a PhD in STEM said that one of the schools she interviewed with had their interview process totally changed by the administration WHILE the interviews were occurring. It seems omicron set back lots of universities. Fingers crossed this means those of us who still have heard radio silence still have a chance--truly banking on it!
My interviewers were kind and encouraging, which was so helpful for my nerves. They asked why Williams, what book I had read recently, what courses lead me to be interested in the field, what projects I were proud of, and a few others I am now blanking on. Nothing too out of the ordinary. Wishing you the best of luck! 20 minutes sped by very quickly.
i just got invited to interview with Columbia early next week (15 mins, zoom) ! I was super surprised given that others on this thread have already been invited to interview and have been accepted. Trying not to read too much into it. Does anyone have any specific advice for the Columbia interview?
