  1. In at UMD PhD! 2-year full assistantship. This is the end of my cycle - will probably accept UMD. Thanks all for tolerating my anxiety!
  2. Still waiting to hear from UMD about their PhD admissions. Application deadline was January 17, so it's been a full two months now, and their spring break starts on Monday. Early on, their graduate school shared information that if we haven't heard by spring break that would "not be a good sign." I emailed the program chair last week to ask about timelines and got the following response: "The process has been delayed for a few reasons. We have got a long list, but it will take more time to finalize admission decisions. I wish I could give you a clearer answer for the schedule, but it depends on how quickly some other faculty inform me of their decisions and funding situations." So I'm hoping y'all can help me decipher this a bit - or let me know if I'm reading too much in! It sounds to me like I'm at a minimum on the long list, but that there may be some funding problems, which I find concerning. But it also seems from the tone of the email like they want to keep me engaged, which makes me think I still have a good shot for admission with funding? Any insights would be helpful! TYIA!
  3. Officially in at VT! No funding info yet. Letter recommended that I reach out to my department "very soon." Not sure if I should expect a direct email or if I should initiate...
  4. I haven't heard anything about interviews. I wrote to ask if they had a timeline a few weeks ago and they said unfortunately they do not. Don't want to ask again myself, but would welcome if someone else would!
  5. ok, so I'm going nuts. Nothing much at all coming out of the two schools I applied to. Anyone have any sources besides TGC that you recommend checking for signs or signals of movement from specific schools? Applying for PhD here.
  6. anyone apply to University of Maryland or Virginia Tech? I'm hoping to hear very soon, but nothing so far...
  7. for PhD (UEDP-PGG program), I heard we should be hearing in the next week. Don't know about masters.
  8. I'm going a little nuts waiting. Only applied to schools in my area, because I can't relocate right now! Going for a PhD in planning. Anyone have any insights on when I might hear from University of Maryland (application was due Jan 19) or Virginia Tech (application was due Feb 1)?
