  1. I think it really depends on what you want to take out of it. Both are great, with NPSIA having a slight edge reputation-wise. I would recommend looking at specializations, mandatory and optional classes, see which ones you want to take and where they are offered. Also, look at the funding that both can offer you. Sorry if it doesn’t give much answers.
  2. Honestly, coming from a program that has a few thousands students, 100 people per cohort sounds pretty small. Also, within each stream, I imagine that small communities form.
  3. It said review in progress by the DGPA. However, on 360 it said that the decision had been returned to the department. Also, idk for others but when I got accepted, they started a new application
  4. I got my answer yesterday but the decision was made 2 weeks prior. Hope that helps. Also, I was wondering, how many people usually get into NPSIA and how many in each field. I got IIA (luckily my first choice) and only one other has said so far that they got it too.
  5. Well it depends. Some people got their responses within hours or a day or two. My application has being in Review by FGPA for almost two weeks now. Ugh. I just want them to tell me if I got in…
  6. My decision has already been « Reported to Department » for a week now according to 360 and it’s currently in « Review by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs » since. Does anyone have an idea why it’s taking so long for them to inform me of their decision? Other people had the information within a day or two…
  7. My application was moved to Review by Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral affairs on Monday, yet I still haven’t received my decision. Should I worry?
  8. Is it a bad sign if you’re under review by the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs but under specialization it still shows « N/A »? I switched to Review by Department earlier today and am now at this step. Also, do you know how long their review takes?
  9. Is it possible that they go by specialization? That would make a lot of sense given that they have a certain number of places in each.
  10. I doubt they would do that. I’d recommend that you email the faculty to inquire on that. Given that everyone else is already in the process and have been for a while, you should ask them.
  11. I think it gets changed when you’re being considered by the committee. As long as you remain recommended for assessment it doesn’t show you’re specialization.
  12. Congratulations! Hopefully, most of us will get back some news (hopefully positive) tomorrow and over the next week.
  13. How do you know which specialization you are being considered for? Mine still doesn’t show it. Also, is it possible that they are doing all the applications of one specialization before moving to the next one?
  14. It’s unclear. From what I read, a lot of us are in the same place. It’s as though we are in limbo. What I think is possible is that they put everyone in “Recommended for Assessment” if you meet the requirements but aren’t a candidate to which they are ready to give an offer on the spot. Perhaps, after they reviewed every application, they will decide who makes it through the first wave.
  15. I’m not the most familiar with their review system but that sounds like they haven’t even opened it. But I read from other years that people skip all the steps and get in without much change. Don’t forget to check central. That’s where I get updates.
