  1. Completely depends on the program. I'm in Urban Planning (research stream), and they make you jump through a whole lot of hoops. Here's my experience for Sept 2022 intake. Instead of reaching out to supervisors individually, they make you do pre-apps in October/November (form template, which gets emailed to faculty you're interested in working with). I received an invitation to apply by December 15th, meaning that one of the supervisors indicates they are interested in seeing your full application. The full application was due on February 1st, but your references have until February 10th to send in their letters. If you haven't been weeded out yet, they send invitations to interview with your prospective supervisor in the beginning of March. Final decisions are made sometime between March 15th and April 1st (allegedly, still waiting on mine).
  2. Received an offer + generous fellowship from SFU Master of Urban Studies today. Pretty kind of them, as that's tuition for my entire degree, and I get to keep my full time planning job. Still waiting to hear back from UBC regarding their Research Masters programs (not MCRP). Anybody have any luck?
  3. I see a lot of posts for UBC SCARP on here, but I know they have two programs (MCRP professional and MScP/MAP research). Any MScP/MAP applicants here? Lol. We're a small bunch after pre-applications. I've got an interview coming up with the prospective supervisor and chair. If anyone's got any advice, that'd be great. If not, let's freak out together. ?
