I'm still on BUSPH DrPH wait list while wondering if anyone has heard back from GW DrPH.

Please let me know if you have heard back from GW. It would mean alot

Not a DrPH applicant to GW, but as an admit from another program to the school, there were a few DrPH admitted students on the webpage for admitted students

I got an admission offer from GWU but still anxiously waiting for news on scholarship. Any tips?

Congrats!! My program told me on Feb 13th that funding decisions are still pending and the admissions team will be contacting in about two weeks, so I'm gonna wait till the end of this week and contact them if necessary.

  3. lol I think I got rejected from all my other programs except the only one place I got admitted into since I did get a few rejections or haven't heard anything from the schools. Don't really care since the only acceptance I got was my top choice from the beginning but guess this year was really, and I mean REALLY competitive. Last year I didn't even have an article but I was waitlisted to a few places, but this year the same schools were like 'Nope!! Not this time!!' At this rate, I'm thinking some schools want people with a PhD degree to be accepted to a PhD program.

  4. FINALLY!!!!!!!!! Got admitted to my dream program at GW!!! Like I said before, they only accept 1-2 applicants each year, so I'm still not gonna say which program, but like I said it's not Epi nor SBS. Considering that these programs usually accept more than 2 students, I guess that was a given, anyways. I've seen a few people in this forum that applied to SBS or Epi at GW, so for those people, if GW is your top choice school, hope I get to see you all in DC!!

after interviewing, do you think it's reasonable (/polite) to reach out to the POI for an application update or should we stick to the program directors and not bother the POIs?

I sent a thank you email to my POI after my second-round interview (first one was with several professors from the department including the POI, second was only with the POI), and at the end of the email I added 'I look forward to hearing from you about the next steps of the process'. They responded saying they were glad about the interview, too, and that further updates will be available from the program director. So in my case I'd stick to the directors.

Just received second interview request from POI. First was a couple weeks ago with a few other professors from the department participating.

    Help I'm freaking out

Just came back after this interview. Well, after eating something after the interview, to be honest. Guess I was more stressed out than I thought, I think I ate for about 3 people. Anyways, it was more like a discussion than an interview about sime popular topics in the field, and what other things I should be studying before joining. Hope the professor finds my point of view interesting.

I am breaking up with GRAD CAFE. I freaked out because I saw interviews went out to my top choice, emailed the programme, to be humiliated with a “no decisions or interview offers have been made”.

y’all - don’t trust the results page. Join my newfound outlook of trying to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride.

I already finished an interview with a program, but found out they're still telling people that they will send interview invites at the end of Jan or beginning of Feb.

But I actually do agree with you on people lying, cause last year there was someone that said they got admitted to a PhD program I applied to, so I felt kinda worthless. Later I got an admission offer for a Master's for the program and learned that they did not admit any PhD candidates that year and just sent out Master's admissions to the PhD applicants that seemed eligible. Since not many people talked about that program I still see that person's lie everytime I search for the program on gradcafe. But well, that was only one person for me, so if multiple people are talking about the same thing I think its kinda believeable.

  8. I applied to 12 programs in total, but 2 of them have a few days left until the application deadline, so of course I could not have heard back from them yet. Among the rest, I got a rejection from one of them pretty fast. Funny thing is, this is my second time applying, and the school that gave me this fast rejection had actually waitlisted me last year. Since my CV's definitely improved from last year, I guess the reason for their rejection this time is because their vacant research pool did not fit with me, so no hard feelings about that. I also got a interview offer from one of the programs, which the deadline was Dec 1st. It's actually my top choice, so I hope I can nail it.
