Just here to chime in that it doesn't hurt to hope!! I've been listed as an alternate since April 1, 2022 and ground out an application for the 2023-2024 cycle, which would've been the last year I was eligible to apply. I just got notification I was awarded a CIHR this morning ?

Same here!! I wanna be hopeful but not too hopeful ahaha

Anecdotally (based on past threads on the forum and some Reddit posts lol), I think it depends on the school. Some will update alternates on a rolling basis but some might also update on Apr. 22 at the start of the new 21-day cycle!! Sorry I don’t have any specifics, I’m hoping UofC updates us soon too

Also a first time applicant and got an alternate for a CIHR at UCalgary! Congrats to everyone offered and here's to hoping us alternates inch up the list!! ?

I think all results will be available by 8am (ET) on April 1!
