Yup. I know. Things don't make sense at all. But, I can only share what I know based on my interactions with the department...Last time I applied to Austin, I got my waitlist response on 2/25. So things could be moving more slowly this year for unknown reasons.
I just called Austin and they "haven't sent out official responses". Has anyone heard anything from Indiana? They were the slowest to respond my last go around, but it would still be nice to know.
To tack on a few more:
3) Ask about the format of their qualifying exams. At this point, you know how well you handle testing, so go to a school that fits well with how you test
4) Inquire about their placement record for former students if you're interested in a career in academia. Do their graduates get tenure track jobs? 1 year appointments?
My application still says it's under review. Then again, they didn't email me that it had been forwarded to the department until 1/28, so I'm kind of confused as to what's going on.
Also, anyone is anyone who has been accepted to U Texas interested in turning down their spot?
Texas. Sorry, I'm from Texas, so there's only one UT in my mind. I'll be more specific in the future.
Also, not all universities are taking today as a holiday, so there's still a chance that information will go out today.
Hi! my fellow anxiety ridden applicants. I'm mostly applying to Religious studies programs, but I'm waiting to hear back for the George Washington American Studies program, and am on the waitlist for Am. Stud. at UT Austin. Waiting is the worst. Congrats to those of y'all who have gotten acceptances!
