  1. This makes sense. The committee would rather just select their candidates based on application materials, but the university requires all programs to have interviews with perspective candidates. So, the Skype interview is just a formality, to fulfill the official requirement. Congratulations to the three people who've been invited to interview at Yale. Although, one of you deserves a bop on the head for not listing your subfield.
  2. Thanks! That's helpful to know! Are you the one who posted the interview at Yale in the results page today? If so, Congratulations!
  3. Any word on how Yale goes about interviews? Does the entire department have a single interview weekend regardless of discipline, or are there different interview times? There is not much information about interviews available from past results.
  4. no need to congratulate me. I didn't get an invitation. I was talking about Ubi charitas' invitation. I asked him/her about it, but then searched the results page and saw that both of my questions were answered in her/his submission. Here's hoping there are more invites coming.
  5. And after checking the results page, I'll answer my own questions. Email February 22-23
  6. Congratulations! How did they notify you? What are the dates for the weekend?
  7. Duke Div did something similar to me. 1.) I emailed to confirm that they have everything. 2.) They email me to tell me they are missing my graduate transcripts. 3.) After confirming with my grad school that they did indeed send them (nearly a month before), I emailed Duke Div to see if they were mistaken. 4.) They email me back confirming that that do indeed have them and they apologize for the confusion. 5.) I relax and tell the folks at my school that they don't need to resend them. 6.) I receive and email the day before the application is due that they don't have the transcripts. 7.) I scream for a few minutes. 8.) I forward the email from them (literally the same email address) that confirms that they have it and ask what's up. 9.) They apologize. They do have it. Sometimes I think they are just messing with us, taking bets on how we'll respond.
  8. I just heard from Baylor. I was invited to interview during their preview weekend in February. It's a happy day. I posted my results, but I mistyped my GRE scores (for some reason they reversed the order on results submission form). My actual scores were: V: 167 Q: 153 W: 5.0
  9. We've got drama, that's for sure.
  10. That is a very accurate gif. I don't know why I thought I would be incredibly productive in January. Waiting is tough work.
  11. The top of the site. It took me a bit to find it too. When I first read about it, I thought it was a separate forum or something. It's not.
  12. According to the results search, Baylor sent out several email invitations for interviews today. Anyone get one? My inbox is an echo chamber full of cobwebs and sadness... But at least I got to meet Cornel West yesterday.
  13. Well, I told myself I wasn't going to get on grad cafe and see who's heard from schools. It obviously is not going to help my already-submitted applications. The only good that can come from this is a more informed worrying. That lasted until this week. Now, after lurking all week I feel like I should contribute. I mean, it's better than working on my thesis, right? I've applied to the following programs: Baylor Duke (ThD) Loyola Chicago Marquette Notre Dame (Moral Theology) St. Louis (Historical—modern) SMU Yale Good luck to you all.
