I got a HM, IM:VG/VG/VG,,BI:E/E/E. Did anyone notice they only gave 2,193 awards? They said they were giving 2,500. Definitely could of made a difference for HM to getting the award

If you’re really interested in academia then you should keep applying until you get in! It doesn’t always have to be an R1 school, just get your foot in the door and work your way to where you want to be! Whether you get the NSF or not, that is not indicative of your ability to succeed in this field

Is anyone else surrounded by debbie downers constantly telling them not to expect to recieve an award? That's like all I ever hear. I mean I understand managing my expectations, it is like a 15% acceptance rate but still, everyone is so negative.
