Hi Paiged, I completely agree. I found out by calling the psychology department. The girl responded saying, "I think we just mailed out letters" That didn't sound reassuring. I told her we were expecting emails and she was going to have that Karen lady email me back although it sounds like they are kind of unorganized. I am just sharing with you what little information I was given on that. Let me know if you find out anything further.

I applied to DePaul also. Supposedly they have mailed out decisons which is odd because I was expecting an email. I can't seem to get a general consensus on that either.

You should definitely relax. I noticed you applied to Rice and Texas A&M (I did too) I haven't heard back from either. They aren't my top choices. Although, I just thought I'd throw that out there if it makes you feel any better. Also, if you don't get in this year, is it really the end of the world? You will probably be even ten times more eligible next year. I don't forsee you getting 5 more rejections. So try to enjoy your youth a bit. I know I'm only 21 and if I don't get in this year I will definitely be in next year, with all the knowledge I've gained from this process. So either way just try to stay positive and not think of it as the end of the world. Good Luck! I'll let you know if I hear from any schools you applied to.

I didn't apply there. I know a lot of schools are taking longer to review the accounts as many schools had to cut admin staff. I wouldn't really stress about it yet. They are probably getting a lot of inquiries about the decison and are choosing not to explain it to every email. 5 schools I applied to still haven't made decisions.

Geez I wish she wouldn't have set the expecatation for early Feb. Although she's probably not too involved in the decision making process. I'll let you know as soon as I hear something. The wait continues.

Has anyone heard from DePaul (who applied there)? I received an email after I submitted my app that said we would receive notification in early Feb of decision. Although the app wasn't due until January so that does seem kind of early...
-
They must be pretty popular. I didn't even get a notification saying my application was complete. I ended up calling in to make sure they received all of my materials. Keep me posted if you hear anything and I'll do the same. Good luck!

Has anyone heard from Portland State Univerisity (If you have applied there). I am not sure how they are planning to notify us...is it email or by postal letter? Just wondering!
-
Waiting game. Hi Everyone. I don't really have much to say other than I'm still waiting it out like the rest of you. It's still early so I hope no one is having a panic attack. Most replies seem to be Mid Feb-Early March. I'm wondering if I'm going to get a call, email, or just an old fashion letter. I probably won't post again until I hear anything. This website just creates anxiety. Good Luck! Olivia

I don't believe any of the programs I applied to even have an interview which is really strange! I kind of wish they did so I could have a better idea of who I'd be working with ect.
-
Congrats on the interview! Good luck! I haven't heard anything yet. I think most of the December due dates will be giving us notice early Feb. Exciting!

I have a friend that got into Wayne State last year and she seems to like it. I personally do not think I could do Michigan, being an Arizona native and all. I hope it works out for you though. I know some programs say they don't let you know until March but that seems pretty late! Hopefully it's sooner than later because the uncertainty is killing me. You'll have to keep me posted if you hear anything. Good luck!

I am interested in working with either Truxillo or Bauer at PSU. I am sure you will get into one of your programs of choice, since it seems you have really focused on matching yourself to programs with similar research interests. I am about to send my application into Portland this week, did you send you GRE scores and everything in one set package? I know they request to do that, but I had ETS just mail my GRE after I took the test so I hope that's not an issue. I was hoping all of the programs I was applying to would have online applications, but it's not that big of a deal. Did you contact all the schools to make sure they had everything in on time? What schools are your top choice? You will have to keep me posted on how it all goes. All this waiting for answers is going to be unnerving!

Hi, Portland State is actually one of my top choices I am interested in researching selection and leadership. I am pretty nervous about my GRE (1140), but thankfully the cutoff at most schools is 1100. My GPA (3.97) and research experience is all pretty solid. I am already taking a graduate I/O class at Arizona State right now so I am hoping that my low GRE does not overshadow my chances. I am really hoping to go to either Stanford, Portland State, or DePaul. What about you?

Does a high GPA compensate for a low GRE? I took the GRE 3 times, studied for months and of course did well on practice tests. HOWEVER, my problem was that whenever I got to the test center I was not able to overcome my test anxiety and did poor every time. My score is 1140: 620 verbal 520 math. GPA: 3.97 This frustrates me since my math score actually went down and on practice tests it was 700 or above. I am already taking a graduate practicum on applied I/O research at Arizona State, working on a thesis, and have presented at 2 conferences. I also have other various research assistant experience. I am very discouraged that this GRE will overshadow my application. Can anyone offer my words of hope? I know on Stanford's website it says they have no min GPA or GRE. I find that hard to believe. Of course I am still applying, I just don't know that I will ever be able to overcome this mediocre GRE situation...Any suggestions?
