  1. Thank you so much! Genuinely am happy for you and everyone else that got an offer.
  2. I know last year @cowsgomoo was on the waitlist at first, then got an offer. So there is hope! 🙂
  3. Sadly waitlisted again this year 😞 Keeping my fingers crossed and hope up for better news this time around. A huge CONGRATS to everyone that got an offer!
  4. The past few years they have come out towards the end of the day on the first Friday in March. I'm hoping that they stay consistent.
  5. Cheering all of you Ph.D. applicants on! Hoping each and every one of you get great news. 🙂
  6. Nice to meet you too! Happy to have you here with us.
  7. Crossing my fingers for everyone now that applications are all in!
  8. I was in one online information session and someone from admissions mentioned that admissions is need-blind. I can't remember if it is from a session last year or this year though, and I have attended several of them. I will try and find some concrete evidence of this, and I will share it here when I am able to find it. 🙂
  9. Are you talking about the open house later this month? I really wish I could attend it! Sadly too far away from me to make it there. If you do go, would you be willing to share anything you learn from there with us here? Pretty please! 🙂
  10. Hi there @foxmulder! Nice to see someone else applying to Stanford. I'm applying again, and will be re-applying for the POLS program for a masters. Glad to find some community here! Are you applying to any other programs? I'm applying to HGSE as well, and thinking of adding 1-2 more. Nice to find a new friend here
  11. Welcome @Zosoo! Glad you are joining us all here on this journey. You have (to me) a strong application, and such a unique path. I bet HGSE will find that compelling. Good luck to you on the journey!
  12. Not sure if it helps or hurts. I found them to be very helpful and informative.
  13. While I can only comment as a fellow applicant, your profile looks VERY impressive to me! I would think HGSE would be quite interested in you. I think just being your authentic self and explaining "Why HGSE?" "Why this program?" and "Why now?" would be what HGSE would want to hear from you. Hoping that an alum or current student can confirm this. Happy to be on this journey with you!
  14. Welcome @hgse_4mepls! I'd absolutely love to keep in touch. 🙂 What program are you thinking about applying to?
  15. I feel weird bumping my own post, but I am eager to connect with any others applicants to HGSE that are out there! 🙂 Previous years people have posted their stats (huge thanks to @graciasadios and @mjsmith for taking all of the previous years data from folks and compiling it). Wanted to share a bit about me again using the template I got from @DogeCoin the last go around. Program/Concentration: ELOE/No concertation......though I am toying with adding the Early Childhood Education concentration. GRE: Have not taken, but might if it would boost my chances. I have been out of school a while, and I'm intimidated by this to be honest. Would love feedback here if any current students/alumni have any thoughts or suggestions. Work experience: 10 years as an elementary school teacher in the U.S. I've mostly been a 2nd grade teacher, but have taught everything K-3rd grade Undergrad: BA in Elementary Education Undergrad GPA: 3.3 Research: None for me. I do wonder if this hurt my chances last year. LORs: 1 from a professor from my undergrad that I have kept in touch with, 1 from my principal, 1 from the assistant superintendent. The last one is a different recommender than my previous application last cycle. Other info: If I get in, I would be long distance from my husband for the year. If anyone else has done this, or would be in a similar boat I would love to connect! 🙂
  16. Thank you so much! ❤️
  17. Thank you @Jo-E for being willing to help all of us out applying/re-applying. Can I message you a question?
  18. Hello everyone! I applied last year and was sadly waitlisted. But planning to apply again this upcoming year, and I would love to connect with others applying to HGSE for Fall 2024! 🙂 I copied what I used last year to start the thread (thank you SO MUCH to @TabTurbo for doing this originally!), and have tried to update it: HGSE Basic Info School Website | Degree Programs | Admission Info | Financial Aid | Cross Registration Introduce Yourself | Upcoming Events | Virtual Campus Tour | Connect Recorded Webinars (lots of great info on admission tips, international students, student life, career & alumni, Ed.M. vs. Doctorate program, student chats etc.) Faculty Directory by Area of Expertise Admission Stats Fall 2021 acceptance rate 36% (2723 Applied, 969 Accepted, 717 Enrolled | source: Peterson's - assume this is F21 given the record number of apps but could be wrong) (NOTE: The haven't added the Fall 2023 data when I posted this) GC applicant admission data from 2013-2023 (huge thanks to @graciasadios and @mjsmith for compiling) Student body breakdown (2022-2023 entering class data) HGSE Publications Ed. Magazine | EdCast (Weekly Podcast) | EducationNow (Webinar Series) | Usable Knowledge (Relevant Research)
  19. Congrats! So happy for you!
  20. Was waitlisted for ELOE too. It definitely has me feeling weird too, @cowsgomooo. Like I am happy to still be considered, but being in limbo is uncomfortable too.
  21. Definitely guilty of hitting the refresh button a LOT today. Starting to lose hope that it'll be today...
  22. You sound like an AMAZING candidate, @annie_happy! Hoping we all hear great news tomorrow, and even get to meet in Cambridge soon.
  23. I love the idea of sharing this to help future folks when they are applying! I look through a lot of threads, and posted my information at the beginning of this thread Happy to share again here to get this ball rolling: Program/Concentration: ELOE/No ConcentrationGRE: Not planning to take. I feel like I've been out of school too long to take it and do well at itWork experience: 9 years as an elementary school teacher in the U.S.Undergrad: BA in Elementary EducationUndergrad GPA: 3.3Research: None for me. I hope this doesn't hurt my chances ?LORs: 1 from a professor from my undergrad that I have kept in touch with, 1 from my principal, 1 from the director of a tutoring center I work at part time. Other info: If I get in, I would be long distance from my husband for the year. I would love to chat with other applicants that might be in a similar position. Would love to hear your stats, @annie_happy
  24. I'm hoping this is the case. I have been SUPER antsy, and just want to know one way or the other at this point. Rooting for each and every one of us here!
