Hi friends! I hope you're holding out okay. I know waitlists are starting to move as folks make their decisions, so I hope you hear from anywhere you're waiting from soon! My final update is that I have decided to accept an offer I received late in the game from the University of Iowa! Although I will be turning down the more robust funding package from Indiana, I feel it will be worth it based on the incredible opportunities at Iowa for printmaking/book arts/papermaking. It's still funded at 10,600 a year + scholarships (they vary per year, so it'll be 10k my first year but probably closer to 5k the next 2 years). Here's my final list: Iowa: Interviewed and Accepted 3/16, Accepted Offer 4/6! Indiana: Accepted, Declined offer 4/5 UMN-Twin Cities: Accepted, Declined offer 3/11 UGA: Interviewed, Waitlisted, Accepted off waitlist 4/5, will be declining offer Oregon: Interviewed, Waitlisted UT-Knoxville: Interviewed, Waitlisted UArk: Interviewed, Rejected UW-Madison: Interviewed, Rejected Final lessons? I did not need to apply to 8 schools haha. But you really never know, and I knew I wanted to go this year. If anyone else is headed out to Iowa, hit me up! Happy to share my insta over DM Also to any future lurkers, I'm always down to chat about my experiences!

I was ready to commit to Indiana and then I just got an email last night from Iowa (the only school I hadn't heard from) that they'd like to interview me. I feel like this confirms I was essentially on some invisible waitlist as I know folks who were both rejected outright and admitted already many weeks ago. Not sure how to feel about this practice or about the possibility of going through this whole waiting game again so late in the cycle when I could already be finding housing for next year...

Finally heard from UGA- waitlisted! I feel incredibly neutral about this result 🤷‍♀️ Looks like Indiana it is! (unless Iowa comes out of the woodwork with anything but an incredibly delayed rejection)

Thank you! It's definitely hard to see myself turning down Indiana's offer with that funding package! U of O just notified me of my waitlist status yesterday via email so I'm guessing they haven't sent out official decision letters yet. Not sure though! I definitely agree that schools could be more considerate of their applicants. We all spent a lot of time and money applying & honestly shouldn't even have to post on here in order to figure out what's actually going on LOL. All things for us who may end up as faculty to keep in mind for the future I guess ?‍♀️ I hope you get some answers soon!!!

My updates as of 2/21 Indiana Bloomington: Accepted (22k stipend, full tuition & fee remission, full health coverage) Minnesota- Twin Cities: Accepted (roughly 20k stipend, tuition remission, health care mostly subsidized) Oregon: Waitlisted Tennessee- Knoxville: Waitlisted UW Madison- Rejected UGA- Interview coming up on Friday Arkansas- Interview requested on 2/19 Iowa- Rejected I guess? I know folks were admitted already, but I didn't receive a rejection letter yet Edit: emailed Iowa because I was paranoid maybe my app wasn't complete and the graduate program coordinator replied that faculty are still reviewing printmaking applicants which is why I hadn't heard back. Confused by this since I know folks already interviewed/were accepted but I guess its not over till its over LMAO

I heard back via email a few days after my interview that I had been waitlisted. Nothing official has been sent out yet though. (This was for printmaking) ___ Also waiting to hear back after interviews with Oregon & UW Madison.. hopefully this Friday!

Just accepted to UMN Twin Cities today and was accepted to IU Bloomington yesterday!
-
Wow lots of activity this weekend! I hope everyone starts getting some good news soon if you haven't already! Curious if anyone has heard from University of Georgia or University of Arkansas? I was also waiting to hear from Iowa but it seems interview invites went out already- that was fast! Did anyone who got an interview from them apply for print? Or do I still have a sliver of hope? hahaha

Stopping by to say that I got a phone interview request yesterday from University of Oregon's print professor, not sure if every department is on the same schedule though! Edit: Also just heard from UT Knoxville that I'm an alternate for admission. Hey, I'll take that as good news this early in the process!

It's so exciting to see more folks finding this forum! I had 3 interviews this past week and have one more coming up on Friday. I wanted to share a little recap for any future applicants lurking in this forum or folks who haven't interviewed yet. UMN Twin Cities: request 1/24 for an interview 1/25. Interview strictly timed at 10 minutes and they asked pretty standard questions. I personally felt the interview was far too short and didn't allow for a two-way conversation where I could get to know them. IU Bloomington (print): request 1/24 for an interview 1/27. Longer interview time, about 25-30 min. Standard interview questions very similar to UMN Twin Cities. Really welcoming and supportive atmosphere– I think I could see myself going here! UT Knoxville (print): Received a request 1/19 for interview 1/29. 20 min interview that ended up going until almost 30 min. This interview was much more intense for me. It was clear they had really spent a lot of time with my work and my application and almost all of the questions were specific to me & my work. Impressive yet challenging. I'd be shocked if I receive an offer since they told me they are interviewing 10 applicants and I've only seen them admit 1-3 in print each year. They also did mention that sometimes students are admitted but without an assistantship which surprised me since I was under the impression that all their students were funded.

UMN Twin Cities just sent out interview requests and I'm shocked- they're only 10 minutes each. The other two I've heard from are also only 20 min each. Kinda surprised at how brief they are, but in a way it has eased my nerves a bit

Just received an interview request for UT Knoxville printmaking for January 29th!
-
Also, I don't think I ever gave my final list of where I ended up applying: Iowa UW Madison UGA Indiana-Bloomington UArk UMN-Twin Cities Oregon UT-Knoxville (All with a focus in printmaking) Best of luck to everyone finishing up their applications, you've got this!!

Came back to say that I guess they've made it to printmaking now– I just received an email that they'll be reaching out to schedule an interview soon! ? Still so shocked by how quick of a turnaround that was.
