  1. Seems like it's true you have to have a Ph.D to have any money in Psych :/
  2. Excellent news. I don't consider myself naturally very smart, but I know for sure that I have the drive and mental toughness to push through almost any obstacle that can be thrown at me. Thank you very much. I'll ask the school about it. Would something like this be in a library or something I would retrieve from the department of Psychology, do you think? Awesome! All of you guys have been so much help. I wish there was a reputation system on this forum so I could give you something in return.
  3. As odd as this may sound on a psychology forum -- any ballpark figured for a masters? Preferably I'd like to obtain a masters, live for a little then get a Ph.D ... though it is almost certainly the case that that is nothing more than the world I'd have planned for myself and not so much what reality is.
  4. Is there anywhere I could find a massive pool of this sort of information? I've found scattered questionable sources and it seems as if this would be the most beneficial place to ask. Thanks! Also, it's commonly thought that the LSAT requires a certain level of sheer intelligence to do well on, is the GRE the same way? I'm currently a sophomore and am relatively new in exploring possible pursuits, so forgive my flooding of this forum and possible nooby questions.
  5. Thank you very much. I will have next to no debt upon graduating, luckily, and will most likely be quitting my job next semester or whenever possible to insure top grades. If I could do 2 hours a week of community service, 2-4 hours a week of research assistance, and leave the rest for studying it'd certainly be of help.
  6. Does it make much of a difference in acceptance rates? I currently work 15-25 hours a week and am wondering if I should just save up and stop working in order to allow myself more time to study.
  7. It seems hard to believe that a masters from a top school might yield only slightly more than the average for psych bachelors nationwide... Are you sure? I'm not too worried about money; I'd like to have a balance though.
  8. Yes, I realize my question is incredibly vague, as I'm not sure what specialization I might desire, which school, etc.. I'm quite fickle about it at this point, my apologies. If it is entirely necessary, social psych, clinical psych, psychiatry, or general sociology are my interests. I'd like to know, preferably, first year earnings all the way up to maxed pay, if applicable ... I've checked a few different pay scale websites but it seems there's too many variables for me to get anything accurate out of them. Thanks
