  1. I didn't realize how much I actually love school until my senior year of college. Now I really want to go back to school and am very passionate about getting in. Here are my credentials: I have a 2.89 gpa... this is just the last two years of college, my first two years ( I transferred therefore resetting my GPA) I had a 3.6 and was consistently on the dean's list. Also, my major GPA (psychology) is higher than my overall gpa. Is this something I should convey in my application? My degree was in psychology and Art I graduated from Cornell College I am 17 I will receive wonderful letters of recommendation ( I have my advisor, and my psychology professor... is there any other person I should pick?) I am working on getting research experience I took the GRE in September... it did not go very well, so I am taking it again at the end of October, what should the score I should aim for? I know I am not the most ideal candidate but I still want to try. My interest is in Social Psychology, especially Prejudice and Stereotyping. Also will my age work for or against me?
  2. I am taking the GRE in one month and need to be evaluated based on my credentials to know the score that I will need in order to get into a Psychology PhD program. I graduate from Cornell College in May 2010 with a 2.89 gpa. I majored in Psychology and Art. I also graduate at 17. I will be able to get great letters of recommendation. I am trying to get a research position. What do I need to get on my GRE??? Also will my age put me at a disadvantage or advantage?
  3. I was wondering the same thing, I took my GRE today and before going into the test I was told that it was unidentifiable so I should just try my best on all sections.. but I received notification at the end my test, and it was also a quantitative section too. You can easily opted out of it if you choose so.
  4. I just took the GRE for the first time today and completely bombed the verbal. There were two contributing factors: 1. My vocab sucks, I can admit that so I knew it wasn't going to be a 700 hundred, 2. my proctor was being a really jerk which ruined my concentration. He did dumb things like rearrange my id and locker key that was on my desk during the middle of my test, or tell me that i could not get new scratch paper because i hadnt completely used my. I asked during a break for a specific reasons which was so that I wouldn't have to interrupted my test in case I did run out in the middle of the test. These two issues combined gave me a score of just 380 on the verbal which is awful. Does anyone have any advice on what I should do now? I really need a great GRE score. I am applying for a PhD Psychology program at a couple of schools, not the best schools, but still respectable. I have some research experience, an okay overall gpa, but a great major GPA and great letters of recommendation. Also, I am only 17. Will my age work for me or against in applying? Is it something that I should mention right off the bat or something that I should just answer if they ask me.
