Hi, So last week i got acceptance from one university for PhD degree but on the provison that i must identify a Faculty member willing to fund me thorughout my enrollment by April. I thought there will be always rotations so that you can meet the faculty in person before starting research. I am stuck now. I have emailed two profs but its been almost two weeks and i haven't heard from any of them yet. should i directly call them up? Pls pls suggest what should i do now????? Shivani

I am a Bioinformatics graduate and an international candidate. I recently gave GRE. I got 1200 score. V-530, Q-670. Is it possible to get admission in Phd in genetics or computational biology with this score or should i give it again. Please someone help me. -- Shivani

Hi I am Shivani Grover. I have completed my B.tech in bioinformatics D.Y Patil university mumbai in juy 2010. My aim is to do Phd. So, i have registered for GRE in october. When i was browsing the universities i came to know that i can directly go for Phd after my bachelors. My academics is very good. I currently working in a cancer reserach institute. My focus for future work is Structural biology. Can anyone guide me on how to go about getting a Phd admission without doing Masters. Should i apply to a universities like Stanford. Do i have any chance of getting there without doing Masters from a very reputed university? Pls any help would be very welcome. Shivani
