I just declined my spot at UofA and Dalhousie so that means 2 spots for people on the waitlists! -

I got an acceptance letter from Dalhousie last week, but from what people are saying from previous years it sounds like they don't send out all acceptances at once so you probably don't have to worry yet! It also still says incomplete items outstanding in my portal and I never got a confirmation of my application so it doesn't necessarily mean they didn't receive all your documents. -

I applied super last minute last year so overall I didn't put as much effort into my letter of intent and had references that didn't know me as well. I also wrote my thesis in the meantime so that gave me good research experience and then I did a bit of volunteering in the fall. -

They didn't say anything about any of that in the acceptance email, but I got rejected last year and they said then that there was over 500 applications for 39 spots in both the SLP and AUD programs. But it sounds like Dalhousie is a little all over the place with acceptances, so there might be hope for you still! I only applied for SLP. -

I only got a confirmation email after I submitted the online part and paid the admissions fee, but not after I emailed my letter of intent and transcripts. And the online application portal still says incomplete items outstanding and they never indicated that they received any of my documents. -

To be honest I don't really know what my GPA is because I applied with an international transcript (BA in Linguistics). I didn't get accepted at McMaster (and they refused to tell me what my converted GPA was) but each school could have also evaluated my grades differently so who knows really. I wrote a thesis on language in ASD and had my supervisor and another professor I had classes with and worked with on my thesis as my references so I think they were pretty strong references. I had very minimal SLP-specific volunteering in the fall but also volunteered for years at regular summer camps. Overall I didn't feel like my application was super competitive compared to some people I've seen on here so I'm surprised but excited to have been accepted! -

I just double checked on their website and it says this: "First, GPA will be primarily restricted to an entrance requirement. Students will need to meet the minimum GPA of 3.3 on most 4-point grading systems ( or B+ on most letter grading systems)." I guess it just says primarily restricted to an entrance requirement so maybe they'll still look at our grades but not weigh it too heavily or something -

I think for UofA though they're just looking at GPA to make sure it's above the minimum 3.3 but then after that it's not a deciding factor in admissions -

If I just got my grade for one of the pre-req courses does anyone know if the schools will accept an updated transcript? -
On the McMaster website it says the interviews are March 11-12 and invites for the interviews are sent out early March. But based on previous threads in here, it seems like invites are often sent in the end of February.

I didn't but it says this on the website: "Unfortunately, given the large number of applications we receive, we will be unable to acknowledge receipt of your application." So I don't think we should be expecting a confirmation. -

My references told me they hadn't received the email from UofA either but it ended up being in their spam folder. If your references haven't checked already it might be there! -

Does anyone have any experience applying with a European bachelor's degree? Do the Ontario schools stick to the WES evaluation or do they do their own assessment of my GPA?
