  1. Greetings, all I've been away from this discussion by design. However, I just wanted to pop back in momentarily to say that for those on this forum who did not receive good news from HDS, please be reminded that admissions decisions are never a reflection on your value and ability to contribute greatly to society. Yes, I was fortunate to receive news this morning of my admission to HDS. And yes, it is an honor. However, I plan to do wonderful things in this world whether I ultimately accept HDS' admission offer or not! And so I encourage you to move forward with confidence, resilience and resolve. Harvard or no Harvard, let's resolve to make this world a better place! Stay safe and well, all!
  2. Hey guys, Does anyone have any direct information as to what the Harvard Kennedy School MC-MPA Summer program entails? Namely: - Is it a five-week program consisting of graded courses? - Alternatively, is it primarily more like a summer conference, seminar or workshop (non-graded) that serves to provide an overview of HKS and acclimate students to life at HKS? I only inquire out of curiosity, as I already have several graduate degrees -- including a Master's from Harvard. Like many international students, I'm just wondering if I need to do any prep coursework prior to the HKS Mid-Career Summer Program in order to be successful. Thanks for any help you can offer. Only serious, thoughtful replies, please!
  3. Greetings, Faithgirl Pointing out the inappropriateness of a particular line of inquiry is not a matter of "deciding ethics for others." The original poster's question is tantamount to asking a classmate "what was on the exam?" If you in particular are totally ok with that as someone entering Divinity School, where -- yes -- we do deal with ETHICAL issues in society, then, alas, that reveals the type of Divinity student and subsequent professional you will be. Maybe you can serve in the next Trump administration, as his spiritual and ethics advisor. You appear to have comparable values. Nevertheless, thank you for your prudent suggestion that I hop off this thread, considering the caliber of participants on it currently. That is good counsel. Accordingly, I am now signing off... No further reading or writing here on this thread. Stay safe and well, all.
  4. Greetings, Not sure it's appropriate to inquire, as the poster above did, "what questions did they ask?" Let's remember we're applying to DIVINITY SCHOOL. As such, we're expected to be role models of ethics. Just food for thought...
  5. Hi everyone, Since other posts seem to engage discussions about the residential degrees at HGSE, I thought perhaps those of us within the online community could start a little chat amongst ourselves. Hence, I am hopefully getting the proverbial ball rolling. Check out the news article below (see enclosed link) from the Harvard Crimson student newspaper. Students in the online Ed.M. program raise concerns about the quality of the program. Btw, do any of you have concerns about the perceived quality of an online degree? Hopefully, we can engage a robust and respectful discussion within the online community! Thanks and Happy New Year! https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2021/10/15/hgse-online-program-complaints/
  6. Hello, all For those applying, as am I, to the new online Ed.M. at HGSE, enclosed below is a link regarding the program that was published in the Harvard Crimson student newspaper. Hopefully, HGSE has addressed any concerns that may need addressing. Btw, do any of you have concerns about the perceived quality of an online degree? Just curious. Thanks and Happy New Year! https://www.thecrimson.com/article/2021/10/15/hgse-online-program-complaints/
