  1. I know right, getting pretty crazy over here. Congrats on the interviews, that's a great sign! I'm yet to hear anything at all from my schools ?
  2. Hi everyone, and happy admissions season! My partner and I have applied to about 10 U.S. schools for PhD each. We are international applicants in a long-term relationship, so not in the U.S. We have very different specializations (they're in STEM and I'm in Social Sciences). They have been waitlisted by one school after an interview and I haven't heard back from anywhere so far -- except for one rejection. I'm really anxious. Even if one or both of us gets admitted, the choices ahead are looking scary as hell. Naturally, we want to end up in the same city (optimally). But what if I get into a school on the East Coast and they get admitted to somewhere in California? That would mean that one of us has to give up an admission and instead arrive to the U.S. on a dependent visa -- and we aren't even married yet, so that's a whole ordeal of its own. Pretty much the same thing would happen if only one of us gets admitted at all. Has anyone been in a situation like this before? How did it develop? What did you do?
  3. Can we revive this thread? It's mind-boggling just how dead this forum is compared to last year. Anyways, hi! I applied to about 10 programs, mostly top schools. Already got rejected from Stanford and haven't heard back from anywhere else. Has anyone been admitted yet?
