  1. Finally got my rejection from UCLA so I have heard from everywhere now. This is what I have: rejections: UCLA, Irvine, UCSD, Stanford admitted: UCSB unofficially accepted but then waitlisted: Berkeley based on conversations with UC’s, many of them used grad student strikes as an excuse for this process taking longer than normal. I guess it affected the funding they have to offer, which in some cases also meant they had to accept less students than they originally planned. would love to hear anyone else’s final status and decisions!
  2. Just received this from Berkeley: I am writing with some unsettling news. I just heard from the GSE at Berkeley and was told that due to some unexpected changes in their funding model this year, they have placed your recommendation for acceptance onto the waiting list. This means that you will not be hearing about formal acceptance and final package for quite some time, and a spot is not even guaranteed to open. I am sharing this news so that you can make decisions regarding other programs. I will keep you posted as I hear more about this difficult situation. I am very sorry to be delivering this news.
  3. It’s the joint PhD program in Special Education between Berkeley and SFSU. I had several informal interviews because for this specific program they require reaching out to potential advisors before submitting the application, so I spoke to 2 faculty members back in November/December, and the I spoke with the director of the joint program in January. I received the unofficial acceptance from Berkeley grad admissions on February 8th, but I have no clue if other folks have interviews or heard anything…based on this website it seems there are lots of others that haven’t heard anything. this was the response I got yesterday: We should be hearing soon. The Graduate School of Education at Berkeley is going through some changes of their funding models, so this year is taking a little longer than expected. hopefully these “changes” are good ones! If there is a bad funding offer after all of this time that would be really upsetting.
  4. UCLA and Berkeley portals still show nothing for me I just e-mailed the director of the program at Berkeley because they told me official letters would be sent in "about 2 weeks" on February 8th. UCLA I am expecting a rejection (HDP program), I just don't know what is taking so long with these two schools.
  5. Got my rejection from UCSD at midnight last night.
  6. I received an email from an admissions person at Berkeley a little over 2 weeks ago letting me know that I was accepted to their joint PhD in Special Education with SFSU. They said official letters with funding offers are delayed and I still haven’t gotten mine.
  7. Speaking of which, I just checked Irvine and my rejection was there waiting for me
  8. Rejected as well, good luck to all!
  9. I saw 2 acceptances on the results page. Does anyone else have any news?
  10. For UCI, my interview was informal and the professor I spoke to basically said she had to decide how much my research interests could help her in her research (that is what I took from the conversation). That was early January and there was no follow up after, so I am not really holding out hope for that one anymore. I was admitted to UCSB and Berkeley, and those fit my interests better than UCI anyway.
  11. I think tomorrow might be the day!?
  12. I found out today I was admitted to UCSB!! I interviewed about three weeks ago and heard directly from the POI today. Here is what I have so far: UC Berkeley: I have spoken with 2 faculty members, the director of the program I applied to, and 2 students (all informally). This is for the joint program in Special Education with SFSU. Stanford: Nothing (I applied for CTE Math and the Leadership for Systemwide Inclusive Education Training Program) UCLA: An email in January saying that candidates chosen to interview would hear back by end of January. I did not get an invite, so I am assuming that's a "no." This is for the HDP concentration. UC Irvine: I had an informal interview with a POI nearly a month ago. UCSD: Nothing
  13. Congrats!! would you mind sharing which concentration? I applied to many of the same places and have also heard nothing. I did have an informal interview with my POI at UCSB over two weeks ago.
  14. I applied to UCSB, UC Irvine, UCLA (HDP), UCSD, Berkeley (Joint program in SpEd with SFSU) and Stanford (CTE Math). I had informal discussions with UCSB, UC Irvine and Berkeley in the past few weeks but heard nothing since. No contact from other programs, still waiting it out
