  1. I have learned some things about the JSP application process that makes me very concerned. Please contact me if you think that you should have been accepted. '
  2. If anyone got rejected who feels like they are extremely qualified for this program - I'd like to talk to you off line to discuss strategies and figure out what the issue is. Working together might reveal a common application problem. Please message me privately.
  3. Yes, thanks for the info and congrats. Hopefully there is still a chance. Please post when the associate dean contacts.
  4. The fact that no one has reported a call from the associate dean suggests all is not over (or maybe even officially started). Also, last year someone reported an acceptance on Feb 16th (probably a second round filler). So I think the following is a good analysis: Friday is a good day to expect acceptances but it could go Ito next week.
  5. From past experience you don't want to receive an email - if you do you are out and you won't get that till end of February anyways. Don't expect an interview. Also it's not late yet - I'm pretty sure that acceptances will come today or Friday (and maybe a second round next week). So too early to be alarmed. Be alarmed tomorrow at 5:00 pm.
  6. I'll second the prior comment. A call from the POI on the weekend (rather than associate dean during a weekday) seems odd and might account for the earlier than expected informal acceptance. Looks like it might be a one-off so I'll stick with my prior view which is that this Friday seems to be the day you should schedule your disappointment.
  7. Unfortunately, I am an expert on this particular topic. Based on past experiences (and talking to past admittees on here and on campus) - the first acceptances are by telephone probably by next week. As some accepted applicants turn Berkeley down (maybe after a few days of thinking time) there appears to be at least a small second round to fill spots that might get you to mid February. All the rest of us are turned down rather unceremoniously by email essentially on the last day February (thanks for your application fee....). Contacting the department about status is useless even if you have been in the no pile for weeks. My read is that if you don't hear by next friday - you should assume your chances are very low.
  8. Just starting a thread for 2024 application season. Third time is a charm!
  9. Just thought I'd start this topic - way in advance - to discuss the application process.
  10. Got the End of February rejection last night - Didn't let it ruin the warriors game.
  11. Last year it looks like calls went out on Friday February 8. Its friday February 10th - so if no call today then I'm assuming its a "no"
  12. No word yet - I think that is a bad sign (again) for me. Formal rejections typically land at end of month.
