  1. Hey Mayshu, can I ask at which program your friend was waitlisted before the rejection? Many programs waitlist on area so I guess it makes sense that some get an earlier rejection than others. I would say a good sign that you're still on the waitlist at MTL. I have some friends attending that program, I can ask if they have some info? They met the prospectives around a month ago.
  2. In a closely related program, I would contact the coordinators, they were straight up and helpful with me.
  3. anyone know when waitlists tend to move based on past years?
  4. Anyone heard from Harvard comp lit? Can people share how many comp lit programs are admitting this year? In the meet the cohort emails I've seen, the programs where I've been admitted will be taking 2-4
  5. Congratulations Shuya, so tough when English isn't your first language! English or comp lit?
  6. yeah that's fair enough, I get where you're coming from, interested to follow
  7. Not a fan of this thread which reeks of American elitism. Everyone always knows what the good programs are. This will only make people feel insecure about their university, and what universities are possible for people are overwhelmingly determined by very predictable questions of access to resources etc.
  8. Thought it would be a good time to start one here. Admitted into two Ivies luckily but waiting on my dream and best fit, Stanford. Where are you waitlisted? Hope everyone gets into their dream program and manages to do something else other than compulsively checking emails til 15/04!
  9. Hi everyone, looking for some interview advice for an international student please. I'm interviewing at an Ivy but I have an offer at a peer program with a top funding package higher than this program's average stipend last year. If they ask me if I have other offers, should I answer truthfully or is it in my best interests to not mention it since faculty might be conscious of protecting yield rates (I have heard that top programs are very conscious about making this number as big as possible)? On this note, I read this article to help me make my decision about programs in the US, is there a similar newer article that someone wants to share? Especially one with data outside of the US? In an ideal world I wouldn't be using this data to help make my decision but I don't have a trust fund so what can you do. https://read-dukeupress-edu.eu1.proxy.openathens.net/pedagogy/article/15/1/139/20455/Where-Do-PhDs-in-English-Get-Jobs-An-Economist-s
