  1. Yes I interviewed with them about a month ago! They gave me until April 4th to make my decision, but I'm leaning more towards Brooklyn College because of $$$ + staying in NYC. Still waiting to hear from NYU/Columbia as well.
  2. I got an offer from Carnegie Mellon. I'm surprised it came this late but I'm assuming I was a second round choice and that someone rejected their initial offer. Did anyone else get an update from them?
  3. Got an acceptance email from Brooklyn College! I've been applying for playwriting programs four years now and this is the first acceptance I've ever received. Still in shock. I hope others start to get good news as well.
  4. I believe Hunter sent out interview requests last week, I haven't heard anything from or about Brooklyn College though.
  5. Just got an interview request from Columbia.
  6. Has anyone heard updates from Hunter, Brooklyn, or Columbia? I was also waitlisted at UT. It’s definitely a bummer but still encouraging to have made it this far. Hang in there everyone!
  7. Same here! Best of luck! I had an interview with UT last week, but have yet to hear back from Yale, Hunter, Brooklyn, NYU, and Columbia.
  8. Has anyone on NYU’s waitlist heard from them yet? I’m curious if they’ve started reaching out.
  9. Received an interview offer from NYU. I hope others are hearing some positive news as well!
  10. Never interviewed with Pace but other interviews I've had were all different experiences. Some programs are more curious about you as an individual, some are more interested in your writing samples/current projects, and some want to know about both. My general advice after going through the process three times now is to use active language when you talk about your plays and what excites you. It's better to say "I do A and B well but I need to work on C and D" than being passive or vague when describing your work or what you want out of the program. But then again- I haven't been accepted anywhere yet so take this "insight" with a grain of salt! Best of luck to you!
  11. Apropos of nothing (ha) I'm starting to think that Carnegie Mellon has already sent out interview requests. I received one last year on Feb 15 after an initial email on Feb 2nd explaining that they were running behind schedule. I haven't heard anything about them being behind schedule this year so I'm guessing they already reached out to applicants for interviews. Can anyone confirm or deny this theory? Still waiting on responses from NYU, Hunter, and Northwestern as well.
  12. It's my third year applying so I'm trying to stay optimistic. I've submitted apps to NYU, Carnegie Mellon, Boston, Hunter, and finishing up Northwestern now. Also considering applying for the Dramatic Writing MFA program at the Royal Central School in London. Out of curiosity, does anyone have experience applying or going to graduate school abroad? I think it would be a fun oppurtunity but also not sure if getting a degree in London will give me the connections and such I need to make things happen in the US. Good luck everyone
  13. Got an interview offer from Carnegie this morning so I believe they are being sent out now.
