I would say if you have any other offers, take those instead at this point. Even if you were eventually accepted, it's getting late in the year for extra internal grants, Assistantships have probably been handed out, etc. Which school are you waiting to hear back from?

Hey everyone, I've got one last update, haha. After months and months of asking why there was a "pending items" notification in my ASU file, I finally figured out that they forgot to send the slideroom link to me. The website had originally said that would be a separate link, but I never got anything, and it was so hectic with all the other schools I applied to, I didn't think about it. So basically, I never really applied to ASU, haha. Also, I got an official offer letter from NTNU yesterday, but there is ZERO funding, so I decided to decline. Here's what everything looks like at the end of this cycle: Hello everyone, First post. Decided to stop lurking and contribute, lol. Happy to know I’m not crazy in this whole process, and that everyone else is just as stressed as me! Here’s my status on applications so far: 1. Trondheim academy of Fine Arts/NTNU: Admission offer 5/4 (I declined). 2. Oslo National Academy of the Arts: Rejection 3/3. 3. Colorado State University: Rejection 3/13 4. New Mexico State University: Admission offer 3/15, accepted 3/20 5. Boise State University: Waitlisted 2/28 (I declined).

Well, well, well...if it isn't ME, back with another update. Already accepted at NMSU but my #1 school (NTNU in Norway) came out of the blue last week offering an interview. Of course I had to entertain it, so will be interviewing with them tomorrow morning (5am). Unfortunately, their gov't has introduced tuition fees, so unless I win the lottery I won't be decommitting from NMSU. $47k/yr is wayyy too steep for me. Anyway, here's the updated list: Hello everyone, First post. Decided to stop lurking and contribute, lol. Happy to know I’m not crazy in this whole process, and that everyone else is just as stressed as me! Here’s my status on applications so far: 1. Trondheim academy of Fine Arts/NTNU: Interviewing 4/11 2. Oslo National Academy of the Arts: Rejection 3/3. 3. Colorado State University: Rejection 3/13 4. New Mexico State University: Accepted 3/20 5. Arizona State University: Radio silence still, which is absolutely ridiculous. 6. Boise State University: Waitlisted 2/28 (I turned it down).

Congrats on those acceptances! Are you leaning towards Chicago or Artcenter?

Well everyone, I went ahead and accepted a great offer from NMSU. They were offering in-state tuition ($6k/yr), a 10 or 20hr/week GA'ship worth $5k or $10k/semester, and 2 credits of tuition remission if I accepted by yesterday 3/20. Was holding out for Boise State and NTNU in Norway, but the stress and anxiety have just been unreal this past month. I decided to just make a decision! Obviously, still nervous to pack up and move across the country, but I'm ready to get out of my comfort zone and experience something new. Thanks to everyone on this sub for the support, made me feel like I wasn't so crazy. These threads get archived, so it will be fun looking back and reminiscing on this process in 5-10 years. Good luck to you all in your pursuits, and once you accept, go out and treat yourself!

Today's update: Another rejection. This one from CSU Norwegian University of Science & Technology: Silence. Oslo National Academy of the Arts: Rejection 3/3. Arizona State University: Waiting for rejection letter Colorado State University: Rejection 3/14. Boise State University: Waitlisted 2/28 with high priority. New Mexico State University: Accepted 3/9.

As a MN native, I've only heard good things about UW madison, and Usnews ranks it as #15 in best fine arts Graduate programs in the US. Congrats on the acceptance! Updates as of 3/13 Norwegian University of Science & Technology: Silence. Oslo National Academy of the Arts: Rejection 3/3. Arizona State University: Silence, but I know ASU letters have gone out, so just waiting for an official rejection Colorado State University: Portal was updated today saying a decision has been recommended and that I'll receive a final decision within 2 weeks. UGHHHH Boise State University: Waitlisted 2/28 with high priority. New Mexico State University: Accepted 3/9. NMSU is offering pretty generous funding, but it's tough to accept it right now when there's still so many schools I'm hoping to hear back from to make the best decision I can. I know a lot of people are feeling similarly right now. Any tips on navigating this?

I got into New Mexico State!!!!!

Has anyone heard anything from Colorado State or know of anyone who has?

Congrats on all the acceptances! Personally, I'd say if you can afford to go into a certain amount of debt, might as well go to whichever you think will help your artistic growth (and connections in the industry) the most. If that means the most expensive one, then go for it! What are you leaning towards right now?

Hey! I'm not sure about reputation but I had them on my list for a while. Ultimately decided as a PoC I would feel more comfortable in a location with other artists of Color, so I didn't apply, but I can say that their grad student advisor was SUPER cool. We video chatted for about an hour and he gave me lots of great information and tips of what to look for as I continued my search. On another note, I have been to Portland Maine, where the school is located, and it is absolutely GORGEOUS. There are ports, old brick buildings, cobblestone streets, amazing seafood, and lots of fun dive bars and classier whiskey bars too (went there on my honeymoon back in 2021). Looks like its ranked #89 by US News & World Report so its got some prestige.

Seeing some positivity in here this week! Looks like lots of people are finally getting their answers. I'm trying to hold out hope but this radio silence is the worst. Just reject me already and stop the bleeding.

Update for me: While I still got a few shots to get into some programs, it's looking like my top choices will all probably be a no. Decided today to take that as a challenge and opportunity for growth, so I applied to the Post-Bac programs at CU Boulder and UMass Dartmouth. I think I might have to do a 1 year program, really improve my practice, and come back in another year for a second round, if I don't end up off the waitlist at Boise State, or get an offer from NMSU.

I doubt I’m the only late 20’s person to ever be hit with the sudden realization of my own mortality and that I haven’t accomplished everything I thought I would have by the time I became a “real adult” in my 30’s. I know we are all strung out with the admissions process, and I’m also grappling with the fact that I may have to push my plans back another year on the very real possibility that I don’t get an offer anywhere. But no one was personally attacking you, so in short, don’t be an ass.
