  1. I'm a bit confused because there are already two acceptances on the results page. Did interview all short-listed applicants? What was the interview about?
  2. Hey guys, can someone claim the Hopkins acceptances? I e-mailed the DGS and she indicated that they haven't yet made decisions.
  3. Has anyone heard back from Hopkins or have any idea when they might release results?
  4. Hi, when did Virginia send out notifications?
  5. An MPA would offer more career flexibility; an MBA even more so.
  6. Hi guys, Can anyone else log into UVA's Apply Yourself system? This is the worst possible moment for this to happen.
  7. Hi,   I'm interested in this question also. Generally, above what GRE and GPA  would someone be considered competitive? OP seems to have good recommendations and research experience.
  8. Definitely possible, especially if you're planning to focus on qualitative work/IR/political theory. My friend majored in English and is now at a top 20. I would try applying straight to a PhD program if you have knowledge of your area and recommenders who are political scientists/social scientists. If not, go for a political science, rather than international affairs, MA.
  9. I took the test today, and was hoping to view my unofficial scores online. However, there's nothing available on the ETS website. When I go to "View My Scores" and enter my information I get a message saying "The information you provided does not match our records." Can you only view your unofficial scores at the test center?
  10. Hi everyone, Do any of you enrolled/holding an offer for the LSE MPA program know anything about the basic calculus requirement? What courses are acceptable and do you have to complete the requirement before getting an unconditional offer? What does LSE require for proof? Also, are there any current LSE students who did not receive funds under GSS but later received other LSE awards? Thanks!
  11. OMG, it looks like I’ve stirred a hornet’s nest. I emailed the department I am applying to to get an exemption or deferral of their notarized diploma translation request, and they e-mailed me back saying that they now require an official version (i.e. not the “issued to student” copy) of my transcript as well. AAARRRRGGGGH. They gave me until February 5 to get them both the official transcript and the notarized diploma translation. :-( Edit: Thank God my alma mater is fierce and decided to deliver a shotokan blow of awesomeness to the douchey department I am applying to. They’ll mail them an official transcript tomorrow and have already e-mailed them a letter certifying that I actually graduated. Hopefully, that will be enough…
  12. I already have notarized transcripts, which you would have known if you had read my posts above clearly. My alma mater also doesn't issue notarized translations of the degree, just a translation provided in the graduation program. Again, my question was specifically about communicating with the university I am applying to. Everyone else who replied to my post is clear about what I was asking. The title is clearly about an exemption (note the "talking myself out of" in the title). You do seem rather hostile and patronizing, so I appreciate your decision to not participate any further in this thread. Instead of asking for clarifications or offering helpful suggestions, you offered contradictions and irrelevant advice that has nothing to do with the substance of the thread. Thank you for bowing out of the discussion.
