I was in the 2nd quadrant!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share that I received a spot off the waitlist for Western yesterday and have firmly accepted! Good luck to everyone!

Has anyone taken a phonetics course online? If so where is it offered entirely online?

Wondering if anyone who has applied in the past, has taken more courses to try and boost their sGPA? Any suggestions on what school to take them with/how many to take? I'm trying to decide if I should take only a couple. Or if I should take a full semester worth. My sGPA was a 3.78 this round so I am nervous that I could lower it. Also wondering if anyone has taken pre reqs for certain programs after completing their undergrad. I only applied to Western and Mac this round as I did not have the necessary phonetics course to apply to UofT. I'm wondering if it's worth taking a phonetics course so that I can apply to UofT next round and increase my odds. Any advice would be helpful!

Anyone heard of any movement on the Western waitlist for SLP?

I'm not sure how to reply to the other message about class size but as far as I know, it's still 50 people. It just sounds like they had a lot of people accept their initial offers and didn't need many people off the waitlist.

For all the people waiting to hear back from Western's waitlist, I reached out to Janet to ask about the waitlist and she told me that the class is currently now filled. They didn't need many people off the waitlist this year apparently. Disappointing news for sure. She did say that the waitlist would remain open all summer in the case that someone drops out, but it sounds like for the most part the class is already determined.

Congratulations on your offers, that's fantastic! If you don't mind me asking, I'm assuming you were in quadrant one of the waitlist at Western?

Does anyone know if Western's class is full? It seems there hasn't been any movement on the waitlist?

I emailed Janet (The Graduate Program Assistant) this morning and asked. She told me which quadrant but wasn't able to tell me anything else.

Does anyone who was on this forum last year recall where they got to quadrant wise at Western last year? I've been waitlisted (2nd quadrant) and just trying to roughly figure out the chances I have of getting in.

I also was waitlisted at Western. I emailed Janet this morning and she emailed me back to let me know I was in the 2nd quadrant. I believe they just meant they won't tell you the exact number you are, but will let you know which quadrant! This is also my first time applying so I am a little bummed but hopeful that a spot will open up!

Just wondering if anyone knows what the lowest sGPA for Western acceptances seems to be based on past years/applications? I have a 3.78 sGPA and I'm really not feeling very strongly about getting accepted.
