phycocyanin is right, there are signup links for these info sessions elsewhere on the GRFP website and they are intended to assist students in preparing application materials.

They sent out notifications to people who were rejected without review (ineligible, missing application materials, etc.) on thanksgiving so I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Your guess is as good as mine, but the last few years it’s been 2-3 hours after the maintenance starts.

I wonder if the NSF folks watch the gradcafe threads to time the release? I’m honestly curious what ends up taking so long since I’m pretty sure all the review sessions are done before February 1.

If anyone else wants to try and read the tea leaves, attempting to log in to the DOD portal linked here with the username and password I used for the applicant portal now gives a “this account has been locked out” message instead of an “invalid login attempt” message.
