Hi all, A bit of wishful thinking on my part, but I'm wondering how long students are given to accept a place at UofA and whether any payment is due up front to keep your spot? I'm just booking a vacation and it looks like I will be gone for a large chunk of April. I'll probably be able to check my phone at some point but I'm nervous about how it's going to work if I possibly got in and needed to transfer/pay any large chunk of money. Thanks!

Hi all, I'm re-applying to UofA this year and I'm feeling very stupid but I can't understand their reference timeline. Their website says that references will be contacted after we submit our applications and pay the $135 application fee- but their letters must be submitted before Feb 1st. What am I missing? That would mean that I'd have to submit my application like a week prior to the 'formal application submission deadline' of Feb 1st, so that my references would get an email from UofA inviting them to upload their letters. I checked the application online and it's definitely set up so that the references submit their own letters. Did I miss something? Thanks for the help :)

Nope! I've got my eyes glued to this forum and my portal but nothing yet. I guess UofA said "by the first week of April" which could either look like end of this week or anytime next week. (My interpretation anyways)

I haven't. I'm guessing they would just give us a similar message as McGill - will send out emails by April 15th. I could be wrong, though.

Not yet 🥲 My application status still says "pre-screening". Can't help but feel it's a bad sign since I read at least one person has "under review" on theirs...
