I've been weighing my offers for a month but I honestly still don't know which to choose. Here are some background as well as pros and cons:
CU QMSS
Pros: Best location; great flexibility; helpful director; nice career/phd outcomes.
Cons: Slightly worried about the reputation of Columbia's graduate programs; courses might not be that in-depth (?); dubious career service
UCLA MQE
Pros: Also great location; nice combination of econ & data science; coursework seems challenging; ample applied projects/other hands-on opportunities.
Cons: seems that most students did not secure jobs in the States (I'm an international planning to work in the US after graduation); bigger class size & fewer resources for individual students; public schooling, maybe less supportive in comparison (?)
That being said, both programs are really good in general, which makes it even harder for me to decide. Any advice/insider experience on the programs is hugely appreciated
