  1. I reached out to Browns epi coordinator and she said decisions are typically released mid- Feb. still confused how folks already heard back and conflicting info from the dean
  2. I saw a few acceptances come out in the main page!! Congrats to you folks!! Does anyone know which tracks (or focus) they’ve already released results for?
  3. Anyone at the Brown interview day today know when they are releasing admission decisions?
  4. I found that it really helped me forge relationships during the application process. It also enabled me to write about the faculty I’m interested in within my application. I think everyone has a different approach. Do what works for you and helps you figure out what’s the best fit for your goals
  5. It’s an interview with three faculty, so a panel. As hard as it may seem, don’t spiral!! Nothing is definitive yet- who knows what the outcome will be and maybe they are still releasing more interviews. Trust the process and give the universe time to give you exactly what you need and at the right time this is my second time applying to PhD programs, and the first time I got rejected to all (not saying that you will be!!!) but for me it was not the right time and I wasn’t ready- after not getting in, I actually moved across the country, met and married my now husband, and am working a dream job, interviewing for programs that auto rejected me a few years ago. Again, not to say you will get rejected, but unless you’re a magical psychic, you can’t predict the future and it’s not your job to. Focus on what brings you peace during all the chaos
  6. Hey! I am interviewing with them this Friday but it seems like they are interviewing well into next week based on the schedule they provided (1/25)
  7. Hi all, am I the only one who finds these all day interview events a bit inconsiderate? With the line of work I am in, especially in Q1, there are tons of deadlines and meetings that have been booked months in advance. Schools have reached out and asked me to block out an entire day of work (barely a week in advance) for an all day interview. It seems so strange to do this at the interview stage too, like what do you need to know for 8 hours. Any thoughts on this? Sorry for the rant
  8. Has anyone applied to the pharmacoepi track at Harvard PHS PhD or UNC and heard back?
  9. hi all- seeking some interview advice here. I have a few interviews with professors coming up and panel interviews (I’ve never done panels). Some of the professors I’m interviewing with don’t have alignment with my interests (they seem to be directors of the program- on my app, I listed other professors in that department). How do you suggest going about this? Yes, I know to talk genuinely about my interests, goals, etc. but, in terms of relating to the interviewers, what should be the game plan?
  10. I just got an interview John’s Hopkins general epi track!
  11. I just got an interview day request from Brown! It will take place on January 24th- it does include other departments outside of epi, including SBS, biostat, and health services research. I got a note from the department of epi, so I’m sure they are sending them out piece wise and by department.
  12. Hi Qantu! Congrats on your interview I also suggest pulling out key parts of your work that directly correlate to the direction of research that your faculty mentor does. You’ve made it through the tough part of getting the interview and now they are assessing fit. Which epi program are you interviewing for under PHS? Maternal, pharmaco?
  13. I applied to general epi/methods epi track! I haven’t seen other folks within other tracks (CVD, genetic, ID, etc) within epi get any interviews yet but maybe I’m missing something on the forums. Is stage 2 interviews then 3 offer extension?
  14. Hi! What track did you apply to? I haven’t heard anything yet (Hopkins)
