Pretty decent and glad I applied now instead of trying to improve my application for a few years. I knew I was a lower half of the top 10 kind of candidate and ended up getting into places around there. Short of Harvard or Stanford, I don't think getting into slightly higher-ranked programs would've made much of a difference anyway.

It's March 10-12th.
-
Yeah, it definitely has a reputation as an especially poor funder even for a public program. UCSD and Berkeley at least offer a guaranteed five years of funding which UCLA has historically not. Who knows though, maybe it's on par with the other top UCs this year.
-
It was just an email that said a decision had been made and to check my portal. Yeah, I'm pretty sure they don't guarantee very much funding or offer particularly competitive amounts for the money they do give.
-
Claiming UCLA acceptance (IR). It literally looks like they offered 0 funding but maybe that's to come. Direction in my acceptance letter to go fill out a FAFSA form is not exactly promising...
-
Waitlisted at Columbia (IR). So many waitlists...
-
I got one too but didn't think it meant I was admitted. Did anybody apply to UCLA and not get this email?
-
I think Ytc is right. I haven't gotten a standard email from the department yet, just from the professors who interviewed me and a standard next steps email from the graduate school. which makes me think that they are still working through the process. Hopefully, they are!

Waitlisted at Michigan for IR, sent email by DGS.
-
Good luck with the rest of your apps!

Yeah, Duke is a bit weird. My research interest seemed to equally span the Security, Peace, and Conflict and Political Behavior subfields but I applied for SPC and was interviewed by SPC professors.
-
Lmao, I'm pretty happy about it and it's surpassed my expectations by a long shot. To temper that stateline though, two of those schools were kind of my safeties and I'm like 98% sure I was rejected at Cal but just haven't been officially yet. I'm sure I will experience a deluge of rejections in the coming weeks as some of the other programs I applied to start releasing decisions.

Claiming acceptance to Duke (IR)! I was sent an email that a decision update had been posted in my portal.
-
Yeah, it was kind of a weird way of getting a decision. Unfortunately, there wasn't any funding information in the portal and nobody from the Department has sent me an email either.
-
Thank you!! It's taking the edge off of the increasingly large likelihood that I wasn't/won't be accepted at Berkeley.
-
Claiming OSU acceptance for IR. I just received an email that I now had a Buckeye email address but no information about a decision. I then went on to the portal and saw I was accepted.
-
It's really quite a strange time for that to happen to a single person, 8 pm on a Friday night. Maybe it's legit, who knows.
-
Yeah, I don't know. They reached out to me around the same time as other people here were reporting interview requests, but they scheduled it for this week, so I figured they would be releasing decisions later than last year.
-
I recently had an interview with them, and they said to expect mid-February.
-
Me too! I think it's a pretty sizable step up in compensation from what those who entered last year were offered. I've heard to make those increases, they've had to pretty dramatically cut the number of available graduate positions, but we'll see if that's true.
-
I was accepted and didn't receive any details on funding or even an email from the department itself. I don't know when they're going to send out funding information, though, but it has only been a few days, I guess.
-
It was just an email to check the portal, which made for a stressful minute as I struggled to find my laptop while half asleep.
-
Thrilled to claim acceptance at UCSD (IR)! It was way earlier than I was expecting, but I'm so happy.

I got a virtual interview request from Duke, but nowhere else. That being said, I don't think many of the programs I applied to actually interview.
