There was an update on fulbright.ie saying the Irish awardees would be announced shortly so I assume that means those hoping to come to Ireland will be notified very soon.

I'm going for applied maths! I can't wait to live in Seattle, it's such a fantastic place!

Sorry to break the bad news: Spouse:Legally married husband or wife. A co-habiting partner does not qualify as a spouse for immigration purposes. A common-law husband or wife may or may not qualify as a spouse for immigration purposes, depending on the laws of the country where the relationship occurs. http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/glossary/glossary_1363.html#S I doubt there is any way around it.

For Ireland the announcements have been delayed until end of March/ early April because they have not received their budget details from the US yet.

The website seems to indicate that any employment under 20 hours per week during semesters is allowed.

Is there anyone applying to Ireland? I don't see anyone in the spreadsheet, it'd be strange if there isn't...

Yeah I'm fully funded for 5 years if I don't get a Fulbright. Did you get to write tailored documents for each university or did IIE do that?

This is very strange. Did you apply for the Fulbright All Discipline Student or the Science and Technology award? I didn't have any interaction with IIE for the All Discipline student one... I've been accepted by my top choice so now I'm just waiting to see if I've got a Fulbright as well.

I'm from Ireland. Fulbright here is even different from France it seems. The deadline for the application was in November 2010 and we were just called for interviews this month. We will find out from the Fulbright commission if we have been offered a scholarship in March. IIE has not been involved in any stage so far. The Fulbright application is completely independent from applying to universities. We were expected to do that entirely by ourselves (or at least those who intend to study for a PhD were expected). I actually asked this question at the end of my interview since I was confused from reading other people's Fulbright stories online. One of the board members said that applications are entirely my responsibility however they said that if I do get offered a scholarship I should contact my schools and tell them since it's usually a major positive factor in their decisions.

I only had my interview a few days ago so I won't find out until approximately March if I've got it or not. It obviously sucks waiting for both Fulbright and from Universities.
