  1. Had my SAIC interview , went over by 8 mins from the 20 slotted time. Nice flow and nice feedback , had time to ask questions as well.
  2. I’m red wined up as we speak. 🍷
  3. Ah. SAIC responses are making me worry, but they are my last interview, so I’m just looking forward to finishing this stage of the application. I’m a bit tired 😪 lol
  4. I’m with painting 🖼️ , I wonder if it’s the same one? Is it the one they sent out yesterday?
  5. Mine was Tuesday.
  6. For Yale. we went through Multiple questions, I think I answered like 15 ish question back to back. Was a nice flow , threw them some curve ball questions, got to ask about 4-5 questions myself. Wishing everyone luck.
  7. Studio Painting 🖼️, and thank you.
  8. Got accepted into SVA
  9. I know not everyone would agree with this, but my method to keep myself going with the flow for interviews has been a little red wine. All my interviews so far have gone great with something to help me talk with ease. Good luck to everyone. I’m sorry to hear about VCU and other interviews that may not have gone well. Move forward and “never look back darling , it distracts from the now” - Edna Mode
  10. Got an Email to schedule a Interview for the Cranbrook Painting program. 🖼️
  11. They are interviewing all 16 possible candidates on the 13th. I hope you get something before that date. Hope that helps.
  12. Thank you! Hope to see you on the other side. Best of luck with the interview. Make sure you keep time zones in mind . (Est) time for them. Congratulations to you too!
  13. It’s at the Top there for sure, for me I wanted to refine more of what I already have as a foundation, and Yale is known for thinking outside of the box. It’s good to get a handle of a certain craft or two and then letting them know how they can be of help and how you can bring life to the program. Have a plan that brings promise to further productivity in research is something I would keep in mind. Also I’m at a point where I’ve done enough fellowships , shows in multiple types of spaces, and fairs that I’m ready to go back in a cave. And read my books. I will be reading some more books before I start grad hopefully this fall. Hope that answers the question.
  14. Accepted as a finalist for Yale Printmaking/ Painting. I hope more of you get the same.
  15. Got a USC Roski invitation. (Painting)
  16. I’m considering flying in for SAIC more than others. I think looking at the environment and such will be a key component for me and my investment of time. Also I haven’t really been to Chicago , compared to New York and LA. So I’m thinking about it.
  17. Just got invited for an SAIC painting interview for the 24th of Feb. Looks like they are back on sending emails right now.
  18. The government is pushing FAFSA until Mid February unfortunately. They had extra funding that they needed to adjust with. You should have something most likely by the 15th in your portal updated.
  19. Wishing everyone the best of luck this week. Replying towards the question on “why Columbia?” , I had about two- three alumni zoom calls , breaking down my work and seeing if it would be a good fit with faculty. I think any department you go to is what you make of it. Connections/ networking is sort of the game I play. Branded schools didn’t really interest me at first (ex grad student), so it honestly came down towards the faculty. Their artist talks, work, etc. Faculty for me play an important part. Especially being an ex Alumni from a previous institution where I felt I out grew the program. I used to be very closed minded also and wanted to stay in my comfort zone , and one year I applied to Yale as a dare and got far. (Waitlisted in the end, 2021) So also sort of daring myself to reach further again after taking a year gap from school and finishing a Fulbright in between.
