Also just got my official rejection from Pitt which i knew was coming but still upsetting 😭 it was my top program so now I’m basically rethinking my entire life and decision to take this year to reapply to these programs

Does anyone know anything about the popular fiction program at Seton Hill? I don’t know much about the school or the reputation of the program at all

according to draft, someone got a pitt interview email today so don’t lose hope yet!!

Soooo i deferred my acceptance last year because of funding and i talked with the department a lot. SUPER nice and helpful people but basically unable to give me too much detail. What the GA/TA ship thing means is basically that some of their students are funded while others are not. In my case last year they were able to fund 3/5 of us. Those three were fully funded along with stipend and me and the other person would not be able to receive any funding through the program. The woman that i spoke with told me i might possibly get money through TA ships in other departments other than creative writing, but basically that i was not guaranteed and that i would have to search for my own TAships each semester. These also would likely not cover my entire tuition. Hopefully that info helps - I was told so much information last winter that i hope im making sense lol

I wish i could write poetry! I was never able to take a class back in school but I always find myself wishing I did. I actually write nonfiction too - it feels like most people in here dabble in a few areas which is so cool. A few of my teachers actually wanted me to apply for nonfiction programs instead which sometimes just makes me fear that I suck at fiction but they didn’t want to tell me lol!

Poetry is awesome!! My friend just started her poetry mfa this year and loves it - hopefully you get some good news soon! I would love to learn to write genre fiction - fantasy is so awesome! Did you apply to any of the genre fiction specific programs?

YES i love SGJ he’s awesome!! I’ve gotten to work with him a few times since he’s a good friend of one of my professors and he’s great. I actually ended up deferring my acceptance and asked to be considered again for funding - not sure how that’s going to turn out though. Yeaaaa last year i applied to a few unfunded programs and was so sad when i wasn’t able to go to boulder it’s such a shame!! This year i only applied to funded ones after that lol

Hi everyone!! My name is Elle! I was not planning on posting here but i’m caving lol. This is my second year applying for fiction programs. I got accepted to Boulder last year, but didn’t get any funding sooo here i am again! Is anyone else waiting on an acceptance to the Draft facebook group??
