Thanks, but it's okay! I'm honestly okay with it because I'm totally fine with blunt rejections. I honestly found it funny that it was really short, and I'm happy for everybody who got in. -

It was without an exclamation point, but I thought it'd be funny if I posted it with that. I'm not sure how to upload a photo on here, but I would love to if it let me! -

It was "Unfortunately, your application has been denied!" -

I wanted to say to all of you I am so sorry to hear about the Northwestern rejections, I know rejections are really hard to get, so I hope you all know you can take as much time as you all want to process them, and Northwestern's loss is going to be another place's gain. So sorry you all. Also thank you for the advice you shared, Pomelo! It was really nice to read and very reassuring. Congratulations, Orangee! Western Washington's lucky to have you if you decide to go, and I'm so glad you got full funding. I just got my first decision last night from UIC so I was accepted into the rejection pile! I am totally okay with it because I know there are so many qualified people, and I know everybody who got in is going to write some really amazing things. If anyone on here got in, congratulations to all of you! However, the rejection letter was honestly really funny. It was just six words, and I didn't mind it was so short because I'm okay with schools being blunt, but I was surprised! -

That is really odd, hopefully it works out for both of us! Thanks for letting me know, and I'm rooting for you and wishing you good luck. -

Really rooting for you all, good luck with Northwestern and UT! And I am so sorry to hear about the rejection, that's a rough place to be in, and I am wishing you the best with the other positions you applied for! Rooting for you. -

Hey, thank you so much for checking! I truly appreciate that and your kind wishes. I also have Grad CAS submission confirmation emails, but they were unfortunately only around the submission of my other schools and not Pitt. I really appreciate you letting me know, though, thank you so much! I will probably reach out to Pitt tomorrow just to double check. Good luck to everybody today with the new decisions coming out, rooting for you all! -

Agreed, congrats to everyone who got into Miami Nonfiction! Good to hear you got a confirmation email! I also paid my application fee, and my application status is "complete," but I never got an email from GradCAS or Pitt, and I'm unsure why. I'm thinking I might email them soon just to double check -

That's really odd you didn't get an email either! Grad CAS sent emails for the other universities I applied to so I am unsure too. Hopefully it's not something wrong, and good luck with Pittsburgh! I am rooting for you. -

Let's go!!!!!!! I am so happy for you and congratulations, Miami is truly lucky to have you if you decide to go, and I hope you love it there. They're one of my top choices, and I truly hope I get to join you there! I have not heard back yet. Thank you so much for letting us know! Much appreciated. Wishing you the best of luck and rooting for you with Minnesota! Also apologies for the general question, but I was just wondering if you all don't mind me asking: did anyone here applying to Pittsburgh never receive a confirmation email and/or applicant portal? On Grad CAS, it says my application is confirmed to be submitted, and I sent in my application days before the deadline, but strangely, I never got an applicant portal, confirmation email, or anything from Pittsburgh and felt like this wasn't normal so just wanted to check. -

Thank you, literary fiction is really amazing too, and it's so cool you do that. I didn't apply to any of genre fiction specific programs, but outside a few literary fiction places, I tried to mostly apply to MFAs that were supportive of people writing anything. How about you? Did you apply to mostly literary fiction MFAs? It's also so cool you're working on genre fiction, have you been doing fantasy? That's really amazing you're working on a memoir, I wish you the best of luck with it, and will be rooting for you! -

That is really cool most of your writing is personal! I'm terrible with writing about myself so I really admire how you construct narratives using experiences from your life. It's also super cool that you loved the screenwriting workshops you took, and I really hope you get to take more in the future! I decided to apply to both because I do prefer screenwriting but there are very few fully funded screenwriting programs, and in the case screenwriting doesn't work out, I would like to still pursue prose fiction writing, especially because after a MFA, ideally, I would love to attend a PhD program for Literature. If you don't mind me asking, what kinda nonfiction do you like to write? And I didn't know about that data, that's really interesting that it's mostly fiction! -

That is totally valid, I feel like the waiting is definitely the most difficult part of the process. I'm glad you're doing well otherwise though, and I hope you have a great move if you end up attending somewhere outside the Bay Area. Your idea is great, and I am definitely going to consider doing something similar, thanks very much for sharing it with us all. I've been hanging in there, thanks for asking! I am mostly writing for fiction programs alongside a few screenwriting programs, but I admire you all doing nonfiction. It's such a cool field, and I really love all the writing you do! -
