Do you know anyone that’s been accepted ? I still haven’t heard anything nothing in my spam or on my portal.
-
I had asked about the UNC program in the contemporary art forum, as well as a few others. People have generally been really helpful. I don’t think there’s a specific thread but I’m also bad at using Reddit lol, I recommend that forum though !
-
Where did you receive your rejection from UNC ? I interviewed 1/21 and haven’t heard anything. I saw someone on Reddit got waitlisted as well, was this on your portal or an email?
-
Its 24k , but their ceramics program is excellent I get ceramics monthly, a recent grad was just featured. Did you apply this time?
-
Thanks for digging this up, I told them I wouldn’t be coming for the interview. It was the same time as my OSU visit lol and I really want a 3 year program so good luck !

Accepted into IU Bloomington, very exciting. Does anyone know the stipend amount? Going to visit OSU at the end of the month, I think IU is my only other possibility over OSU. Any input on either sculpture program? I feel like I might life balance wise enjoy Columbus more but ultimately it comes down to teaching opportunities and $.

Do you know what their stipend offer is? I cant find a super clear answer.

Does anyone know if theres been issues with the MFA in sculpture program at OSU? I've been really excited about it but during my interview with Tyler, someone from my panel asked where else I had applied so I gave them some names. She immediately raised eyebrows and asked if OSU had "settled" down, and that they had taken in a transfer from OSU into the Tyler program because of it. I quite frankly had no idea what she was referring to, and I havent been able to find anything negative on here or reddit, and when I spoke with current grads they all seemed super happy. Anyone know anything or have any info that I should be concerned about?

Hey so I did a meeting with an admissions counselor from MICA over the summer. It seemed like a lot of their emphasis is on their undergrad program, facility access is limited unless you write a proposal for why you need to work with xyz ( for me this was about a kiln ) or that I had to be taking an elective with whatever the medium was I wanted to work with, which would have been with undergrads. I have a friend there for sculpture now in her second year, it seems like the work ethic of the program is low and I know she finds that frustrating, but at the same time because of that she gets more attention / studio visits. Funding is super important to me so I decided with all of the above and the cost of their tuition in mind, not to apply.

Hi everyone hope you are all holding up okay. I applied to the following schools, all for sculpture unless the program was interdisciplinary and heres where I'm at. I'm also an alum of SVA, for photography & video but have spent a lot of time in their continuing ed programing post grad for printmaking and studio arts residency so if anyone has any questions or advice about SVA / their facilities happy to chat! Hey so I've been panicking over funding all morning. I got into a fully funded program, hyped it's my top choice. Does anyone know if trump can pull funding? feel like crying lol.
-
From other posts I've seen on reddit, I think a graduate committee is aware sometimes recommenders can forget to upload, or something like this happens. I wouldn't agonize over it too deeply. What schools didn't get the letter? I think most prioritize the portfolio and interview over anything else.
-
Sounds super interesting, good luck with the interview!
-
Congrats on the interview, curious what you mean by you applied with that type of portfolio, I was under the impression UCSB was interdisciplinary? Do you just mean your work submitted bends towards trandmedia/new media?
-
This year I applied to 15 which maybe was insane lol , but after a rejection last year and basically putting my life on hold for a year to re apply I figured I would apply to as many as I could. Really hoping for a program with funding but I need to get in this year mentally so hopefully something clicks regardless of funding.

Got a UCSB interview request today, surprised very excited.
-
MFA , username is from last year when I was planning on doing an MFA for fall 2024 , but was rejected :") had no idea how competitive the process was, only applied to rutgers last year.
-
Once again checking in about Amherst, does anyone else have experience maybe from previous years with interviewing and then having such a long wait to hear back? From any school. I interviewed with them 12/13 and havent heard a peep which I assume is a rejection. How common is that type of a waiting period?
-
Went through the process last year with Rutgers, I got the interview request 2/12 and interviewed in person March 8th, was rejected the week after that. Hope for you its a faster process than last year, they were really brutal compared to people I've interviewed with this round in terms of organization.
-
Hey hey i interviewed with Amherst, OSU and UNC yesterday no decisions from any of those yet though :")
-
I havent heard back yet from UT or UCSB!
-
Hold tight ! I got an email today from them for sculpture saying thanks for my application and if they need anything they'll let me know ... which feels like a soft rejection lol. Im hoping I hear back from some other schools in a positive way so I stop mentally spiraling myself. I also saw you applied to SVA, im an SVA alum and a big fan of their facilities so if you have any questions let me know! I worked a lot in their printmaking studios the past two years for continuing ed and in undergrad.

okay cool cool, they do have seperate programs and the ceramics facilities and community in phili is awesome so good luck to your friend! I applied for sculpture.
