Well, I didn't make it into Arizona for poetry (and it looks like only 3 people will LOL). I'm really counting on that Iowa "still under consideration" at this point...

My only other guess is that there's a problem with my application... but I think like three of us on this forum got the email. It's personal as far as my name and Elizabeth writing on "behalf of the poetry faculty." We have to take this as a waitlist though, right? With rejections coming in today? And if it were a downright acceptance, we would've of course gotten the call?

I also received the "still under consideration" email from Iowa! Can we all talk more about this? Why would they not straight up tell us that we're waitlisted? Is it possible they're still not done making their final choices?

Man, I'm really holding my hopes up for Iowa. Them taking their time to notify poetry acceptances makes sense! I am an international applicant, but I am on central time. Wondering if I should be checking my email for a scheduled zoom, or my phone for a call! Either way, a bit presumptive of me, I suppose.

I am wondering the same... although I applied for poetry. Do we know if the people recieving acceptances went through interviews for the TA position? Is it hopeless if we did not?

Does anybody know if international applicants tend to get calls? I keep waiting by the phone, but maybe an email is more likely.... This Iowa situation has me freaking out. Also, because I've heard they snail mail acceptances. I get mail months later in my country

Literally same! I had to join after today!! I applied to Iowa, Brown, JHU, UA, and UMass Amherst.

Anybody hear back from UMass Amherst yet? I'm a poetry applicant, but I heard from a Fiction applicant they reach out for interviews at the end of January. Feeling let down that I haven't gotten a call yet. Any news from anybody else?
