Same for you, I hope it works out for both of us! That makes sense - I applied to a few American programs but moving there is weighted with a whole lot a scary things. I'm originally from New Zealand but immigrated to Canada about 5 years ago. So if you do end up deciding on UBC, feel free to ask any moving to Canada questions!
Congrats!!! So exciting. The acceptance date is really early though, you're right. We pretty much have 2 weeks to decide. I'm hoping that some of the other schools I'm waiting on come in soon so I'll at best have some funding bargaining power and at least have some closure. But I'm not going to turn down a definite thing that works for me for a dream maybe π Are you applying domestically?

It was in part logistical (I'm based in Canada and already navigated a lot of stupid immigration things to get here). Mainly it was their focus on cross-genre practices. I'm primarily a poet but I find working in other forms pushes my work in unexpected directions. And the fact that the university takes other, less recognised genres seriously (like writing for children & video game writing) is really exciting to me βΊοΈ
