No idea about NYU, but congrats on the full funding!!

I’m so sorry. That’s hard. I had a friend who went through this process last year and had a similarly harrowing experience (partially why I decided to apply in more than one discipline). I hope you land in a program that proves to be a great fit and where you will be happy! Also, I did not know that about Duke. Their German program was the same (no interviews).

Thank you! Undergrad was at Kent State. What about you? I’m broadly interested in women in music, especially in Germany. (And also feeling weird now about sharing my info on a public forum. May edit /delete later😅)

My other discipline is German. 😁 I have offers from Duke/UNC (joint German PhD), , UW-Madison (German), IU-Bloomington (German), and Eastman (Musicology). I also interviewed with UM-Ann Arbor (German) and Case Western (Musicology) but haven’t heard anything from them yet.

Ah. I’m sorry that happened to you as well. I also applied in another discipline as well as Musicology and am already facing a difficult decision between several offers, so it’s not as bad as it could be!

It is! Back-to-back rejections from Yale and UPenn today for me. It was expected, at least. (And I’m expecting a rejection from Duke as well, since I never interviewed there.)
