  1. Just Visual Arts, how about you?
  2. My list: comments or reflections are appreciated! Stanford University Illinois Chicago Mason Gross - Rutgers Michigan State Northwestern Yale Sam Fox - WashU - St Louis Indiana University - Bloomington University of Washington - Seattle SUNY Purchase
  3. I'm from the Philly area. I can't speak to Tyler's program in great detail but Philly has a pretty decent art scene - lots of artist run spaces and regular openings of small shows where lots of artists go to hang out (second Thursdays, first Fridays, etc.), and a few bigger established places as well. Lots of artists are connected to NYC as well. Having never lived on the west coast I figure there could be some differences in schools of thought that could be fun to explore in grad school.
  4. Im applying to UW for painting. Seems like a good program and a handful of artist's I've admired for years have gone through there. Seattle's art scene is pretty good as well. I'm curious about your priorities for each program - was it profs, location, funding, etc?
  5. Has anyone considered hiring an application tutor? Any idea what something like that would cost?
  6. Is there any school that does give actual feedback or even bullet points of key areas to improve? If there are I might apply to them next cycle solely for that purpose lol
  7. I had an interview last year. 1/3 schools I interviewed for. First two school went very well, were very casual, the one director was making tea while we spoke. I was accepted to both of those. Boston U was in more formal. There were two students and two professors. They shared their screen and flipped through my artwork as I spoke. The first question was "how does form and content relate in your work?" I had questions prepared for the professors but I was directed to ask the students questions so I was a little thrown off by that. You'll do great! Try to relax and don't be nervous if they are running a little late and feel rushed. You are allowed to control the pace.
