anyone shortlisted for 2013?
-
Hi,
I am am planning to attend ICPSR Summer 2012 and I would like to know what do you guys know about this program (reputation, previous experiences, etc etc). Anyone able to share personal experiences about it? I am planning to study game theory and regression analysis II.
Thank you so much!

you wanna do a phd after the MA? easy call. Chicago.
-
it's good but very academic oriented...Mearsheimer didn't offer any class in the past 2 semesters..
-
going back to the topic I think that GW is the perfect example of second tier school. Everyone knows that Eliott is a good school with a good brand recognition, but it is not comparable with SIPA,SAIS,KSG,WWS etc etc
-
-
it has nothing to with an MPP program. It's six courses only plus the thesis and you study only one field between security, american, comparative,IR and methods.
-
The program is much more academic than policy oriented. It depends on what are your goals.

*final edit and i won't talk about this any more...
if anyone else does get one of these letters and is wondering what they mean (looking at italianstudent here), the admissions office said they send them to the top few candidates who missed the cut last time around. they are not "a reminder to re-apply", which is not exactly a custom practiced by any school, as far as i am aware; in fact i believe there is no such thing.
so - italianstudent - your odds are probably very good, though not 100% certain.
thank you for the info

no1 ever considered the special student option?
-
Hi,
I know that you can apply to both schools (Harvard GSAS and MIT) as a Special Student and,if admitted, you have the opportunity to take graduate level courses (from what I understood most of the PHD courses beside certain seminars). I was wondering how competitive it is to get into these programs. I am currently doing a MA in IR in another institution and I was considering this as a sort of 'study abroad' option. Please share any info you have about it
thank you so much!

bump! anyone has news?
-
you have beenshortlisted as well Noumen?

I was shortlisted over two months ago. In some of the other various sub-divisions - not the one I was selected for - it still reads only "Application Submitted", while in others it says "Application Shortlisted" (don't know if that's helpful to anyone). I found out last week that I was selected.
I'm looking to connect with anyone else who has been selected... this forum seems to be the only one catering to 2012 NATO internships and NATO-provided information is a bit scarce at this point.
In which division were you selected if i can ask?
-
bump!

I am wonderning who is considering to attend the program. The faculty is great (bueno de mesquita, smith, Przeworski, etc etc) but i haven't heard found much online about the program. anyone in this forum already attended the program or is planning to attend it?
thank you!

I dont' know much about Seton Hall but the best NYU IR Professors teach the Master of Arts in International Affairs at the Graduate School of Arts and Science.
-
the other options are MAs from BU,GWU and American. From what i've heard NYU has the best faculty between these schools..it seems to be an easy call, right?
thank you so much guys for the useful advices.

There is not much online regarding this program, the only professor that i know is Bruce Bueno de Mesquita. Do you guys know if the faculty is good? Do you think that a MA at NYU is going to help me a lot if in the future i want to apply for a PHD in International Relations? Money are not a problem, so I would be happy to study at NYU if this would help me to get in better programs in the future.
thank you so much.
